I wasn’t the only one seduced by Kirby!!

I’m sooo jealous.  My mom called me last night from NC to tell me she and Mike bought a Kirby.   She said after the sales guy sucked up dead skin cells from their mattress it was all over there.  They got a good price on it as far as it being sold door-to-door.  I’m jealous. I told Mike I wished mom were driving up here this weekend instead of flying and she could bring it so I can clean my house this weekend.  (see my motivation for cleaning?  only for a kirby…)  Mike told me she can take 3 carryons so he’ll try to get her to take the Kirby with her HAHAHA. I can just see her haulin a vacuum cleaner through the airport along with her luggage.  LOL.  They’d either think she was nuts for traveling with a vacuum cleaner or think she was the janitor stealing luggage.  OH man.  Well, maybe one day I’ll get my chance to use a Kirby.

So not much is new.  Friday is our ultrasound. YAY.  I can not wait.  Two days and we can finally refer to the baby as "my son" or "my daughter".  I am SO EXCITED.  Well, hopefully the baby will cooperate.  My mom is taking me, Ry and his parents up to her friends work to scan me on Saturday so if we don’t get some cooperation on Friday, there’s always Saturday.  Let me tell you, I’m determined.  I can’t believe we’re this far into the pregnancy already! Its been great so far (other than my 3 months of barfing every night).

Today I have a late start at school.  Thats why its almost 7 and I’m just getting my lazy butt up and around.  This is my morning ritual- wake up, get a cup of orange juice, sit by the computer for 15 min or so and wake up.  Well today I got to sleep in an extra hour.  The kids don’t come to school until 10:30, but staff has a seminar from 8:30-10.  So really I should be getting in the shower now, because I have to leave by 7:50ish to make it to the other elementary school for the seminar.  I really wish I could just sleep in.  Just one day.  Really- I’d love it.

OH!  I was talking to the afternoon teacher today and I can NOT belive how fast this time is going.  We were looking at the calendar and she said "Ok, so you are on full time the rest of this week, and all next week, then the week before Halloween I take back math or something and you start fazing out?"  OH MY GOSH.  I really don’t have that much more time in the class. I just have to plan full-time next week, then it starts to get easier and by Halloween they will probably have taken back over by then.  The last week is conferences and they want me to observe a few other teachers.  WOW.  I’m going to be sad to leave the kids, really sad, but it’ll be nice to be a little closer to done.  However, don’t forget I have another placement at Parkside, 7th grade in an LD room.  It should be fun.  Its only 8 weeks, compared to the 11 weeks I will be in 2nd grade.  Hopefully the planning for 7th grade is a lot easier than elementary. Man, if I didn’t love the kids and love teaching, it would suck- there is more planning than any of you (non-teachers) could ever stinking imagine. I never ever thought it was that time consuming.  Bow down to your kids teachers, let me tell you.  It is a  hard ass job.

Alright, I’m out.  I need to get in the shower and wake up fully.

  1. I can’t believe you are this far along in your pregnancy either. It has flown by! I’m so excited for Friday to find out what you’re having. Sending good vibes your way that he/she will cooperate. :o)

  2. Wow, the student teaching IS going by very fast for you! Enjoy this placement…the next one might be slightly more difficult… I used to teach level 4 7-8 grade LD/EBD 😉
