Lots of little updates:

Happy Birthday Barbie and Devin!
Just a few days late on Barbies birthday, but right on time for Devin.  Sorry.. I’m losing my mind slowly.  🙂  I know you understand!

Church on Sunday
We went to a different church this Sunday and I think it is THE ONE.  We went to Westwinds and it was awesome.  The church is very modern, contemporary and plays rock music.  The pastor is great- humorous, easy to listen to for an hour, easy to understand.  I am so glad we didnt’ just decide to go with Grace, because after this Sunday at Westwinds it just felt like it was the right fit for me.  I can’t explain.  We got there a little late, so I’m excited to go this Sunday and catch the entire thing.  The music is awesome, music I’d totally play in my car.  Very similar music to Switchfoot, which is one of my favorite bands.  The room is set up with the stage in the middle, where the pastor walks around (seems weird to call him a pastor b/c he totally doesn’t "look" like one) and there is the band equipment.  The chairs (not pews) are all around the room in a circle facing the center.  The ceiling is black, the walls are dark and there are about 5 screens around the room (the room is kind of circular) that have slideshows/music etc on them.  When the band plays and we sing, the room is dim and dark, cozy, warm feeling, and they turn on some colored lights.  Very cool.  The music is moving.  The speaches are informative.  I understand the messages.  I’m definitely going back, definitely.  I hope it’ll end up being The One.

Bad new for the Santa Fe
Well, not so much for the Santa Fe, but for us.  The battery is going dead on the poor Fe, and I thought I was lucking out because my dad had gotten me a $75 gift card to Sears for Christmas.  I normally don’t shop at Sears, so when the battery started to chug and needed charged one day I thought "OH perfect! I can use that gift card and we won’t have to dig into savings for a battery!"  I hate unexpected car expenses.  Well, last night Ryan went to Sears to get a new battery and guess what?  They don’t sell the right one for the Fe, we can only get it through the dealer.  Great, huh?  So I’m sure it’ll be a pretty penny at Dodge.  Ryan measured every battery and looked at all the connectors and found one that was the right size and had enough cold cranking amps but the connectors were on the side.  The other one he found that would fit was like $100.  And they said if we bought one and it wasn’t the one that is "supposed" to be for my car then the warranty is void.  So, we pretty much are going to have to scrounge up the money for a stupid battery.  Great.  Anyone want to buy a Sears gift card off of me?

Only 3 Days Left!
I am so so excited.  Today begins my LAST WEEK of student teaching.  Thursday is Adios Parkside!  I can not wait to be done.  I am only teaching science this week, also.  So, really only 3rd and 4th hours.  However, today I’m bringing my inclusion kids down to our class 2nd hour to give them their science test.  That’ll be easy though.  Our 2nd hour kids are good.  Except Ian, who Amy calls a "fuss-a-saurus".  He cracks me up.  He’s autisitc, but his family won’t admit it.  He is, though, no doubt.  He is very "set" in his ways and hates change, so on days I bring them to our room sometimes he gives me a hard time.  He kind of reminds me of Napoleon Dynamite.  He has that monotone voice thing and things he says just remind me of him.  I’ll miss him.

Went to Dearborn yesterday!
Lori and I went to Babies R Us so I could add a few small things to our registry, then to lunch at Denny’s and then to a resale shop called "Once Upon a Child".  I bought Porter some really cute outfits for this summer.  And a cute pair of Nike basketball shorts for next summer.  This kid has so many clothes, its disgusting.  However, buying resale is awesome- I find the cutest things, name brand, for so cheap!  It really doesn’t pay to buy brand new from the stores.  Especially when kids go through clothes so quick!  I mean, I do still buy from Gap and Old Navy, but only things that are on sale.

Well, this is about the update for today. I have to get in the shower. I might add more later when I get home… I’m sure I’ll think of more things to add.

Have a great Tuesday!
