Weight Watchers

I joined Weight Watchers yesterday.  I felt a little out of place going in there to sign up- everyone had a lot more weight to lose than I did, but I am scared these last few pounds are not going to budge.  Thats what I hear is that the last 10 lbs are the worst to lose.  Right now I’m at 136.5. Before I got pregnant I weighed 126- but that was about 5lbs heavier than I normally was.  So, ideally I’d like to lose about 15lbs, even though I’m 10 away from my pre pregnancy weight.  I can’t wait to be able to wear my old clothes again.  I’m so sick of having one pair of maternity khakis to wear and faded yoga pants. Its depressing.

See, each day you get 20 points, and for the entire week you have 35 "flex" points to use whenever that week that you might want a little extra somethin somethin. Katie is on WW also, and her new week started today and she was craving fries bigtime.  I decided to start my week today also, and use some of my flex points on ice cream.  So, we met for lunch at the parlour, debated on how to spend our points (poor waitress…) and enjoyed every bite. Now for the rest of the week I really need to eat good.  Pretty much, though, you can eat any type of food, but you have to look up how many points it will cost you. Obviously, unhealthy foods cost more points.  And you have to eat 5 fruits and veggies each day- that’s going to be my hardest thing.  I can restrain myself from chips and greasy foods and sweets- for the most part, but I have a hard time eating veggies during the day.  Looks like I’ll be making myself a salad with broccoli and green peppers for dinner every night until this weight gets the heck off my bum.

I haven’t walked as much as I’d planned this week.  Next week I really need to buckle down and try to go every day even if its just for 10 minutes.  This week has been tough- I’ve been exhausted from getting up all night with Porter.  I’ve been doing most of the feedings at night because Ryan gets up so early to work.  Its catching up with me- bigtime.
