Kids n Stuff

Heather and I were supposed to take the kids to the Toledo Zoo today, but of course when we woke up it was raining outside.  We decided to reschedule that to another date and head to Albion to the Kids n Stuff Museum.  I used to take Avery and Aria there all the time, and have been anxious to see the newly doubled size of the museum.   We had a great day, went to lunch at Subway afterwards.

Speaking of Subway… we walked in with the three kids (the boys being 10m and 6m) and glanced around and noticed the only high chair in the place was being used by a 2 or 3 year old.  A child obviously big enough to eat sitting in the booth.  The mom and the kids laughed and talked to Porter while we were in line, so they did notice that there were two babies.

Heather and I spoke to eachother about there not being a highchair, and Heather said out loud that she’d see if Sawyer would stay put in a booster, and I said I’d run back to the car to get Porter’s stroller.  Thinking… hmmm maybe this mom sitting just a few feet from where we were standing in line would think to herself… "those babies need this highchair more than my 3 year old does" but noooo she doesn’t.

So Heather got Sawyer sitting in a booster and I ran back to the car to bring my honkin stroller into the itty bitty Subway.  How irritating.  Sometimes people can be inconsiderate.  I don’t think I ever sat Aria in a high chair when she was that size/age.  OH well.

Back to our day….  I dropped Heather and her kids off at their house, and H and I decided to run to a few garage sales and resale shops.  We left her kids with her husband and took Porter to my moms and we had a few Kid-Free hours to bargain shop.  I found some good deals at a garage sale… Gap and Old Navy polos for Porter for 25cents!  I love buying clothes for that kid.  I love dressing him up in little man looking clothes.  I can’t wait for him to be able to wear all his fall clothes.  The other day I tried a bunch of his things on and took some pictures…  (can you tell I love hats?)

The last picture was taken today… he reminds me of a little boy getting ready to go to school!   HAHA.  I’m addicted to buying him clothes… I will openly admit that.  BUT I do get great deals… I rarely buy anything regular priced, and lots of the stuff I get at resale shops or garage sales.  Take that last picture, for instance…. the Nautica jacket… $1.00 at a resale shop.  The Old Navy cargo pants… $1.00 at a garage sale.  The polo… $4 at Target.  Pretty darn cheap, huh? So, I kind of give myself permission to overindulge in his clothing, since I try to buy it in the off-season and at a great price!

  1. Fun to see Porter’s “modeling” pictures!!
If you have any more pictures of my kids from today, be sure and send them my way. I only got a handful before my camera died, but I think there’s a pretty cute one of Porter under that one tunnel. I’ll take a closer look and email it to you tomorrow.

  2. OMG, I just burst out laughing at the last one, he does look like he’s ready to go off to school, he just needs a lunch kit! LMAO Pretty steady standing like that too, even with some help – go, P!

Aaaah, enjoy this stage. I loved it. Now I’m freaking exhausted as he won’t stay put!!! Right before they can really crawl is so much fun.

  3. I love the Kids N Stuff museum, have taken my son there many times. He’s a big fan of the mini Felpausch!

I love all the pitures of him dressed up, but that last one is the cutest 🙂

  4. OMG!! He is sooo stinkin cute- that museum looks like a blast for kids. What fun! Glad you posted I was getting worried! 🙂 Love those “model” pics. great outfits – even better deals!
