R.andom A.cts of K.indness

I just got off the phone with my aunt.  She got a card from my other aunt with just a sweet message of "you mean a lot to me, you are thought of, you are special" that kind of message.  Made her day.

Scrapjazz has a RAK (random acts of kindess) list that people send "RAK’s" unexpectedly to people just to make their day.

This has gotten me thinking… if everyone did something like this to others every so often, wouldn’t that just make this world so much nicer?  If once a week you mailed a card, a note, a tiny "thinking of you gift" to someone you know, wouldn’t that make the recipient feel so special?

Like my aunt said… it seems like just when you’re down in the dumps, you get something like this [the card] and it makes you feel important and wanted.  Wouldn’t it be nice if you were the recipient one of those times, and recieved something that was proof that someone else thinks of you, cares for you?

I’m going to try this, and I’m going to encourage you, my readers, to try this.  Once a week, or once a month, hell even once a day… send someone a nice little note, a card with a nice saying, or a little treat.  Make them feel special.

I’m off to figure out who I’m going to RAK.

  1. Yes, that is a lovely concept and giving makes you feel good too!! I want to do something like this too, so I am collecting addy’s of my blogging friends. E-mail me with yours, please!

  2. Love this idea– I always find that i have good intentions then i get too busy. But truth is- we shouldn’t be too busy to show others how much we care about them. Snail mail is the best!

  3. Great idea. I moved here 3 years ago and really haven’t met that many people. I miss my old group of friends. I think I will spread a little kindness their way.
