Exhausting Weekend #2…

Wow.  This weekend has been jam packed with stuff-stuff-stuff.

I had three sessions this weekend (by the way, the weather was GORGEOUS!!!) and I am so pictured-out its not even funny.  The three sessions I had were close to my easiest sessions yet (not including seniors… they are SO fun and SO easy).  It was three family sessions, and all the kids were super cooperative. Thank goodness! I don’t know if I could have handled three sessions of chasing toddlers around.  I’m going to be really busy proofing pictures this week, but hopefully I’ll have some to share soon.

Saturday night we had our Game-Night at the Morrisons.  It was a Vegas/Casino theme and it turned out really well.  Heather and I made poker-chip cookies (don’t try it… its not nearly as easy as it seems) and we had a nacho bar, chocolate "gold" coins, and played poker, spoons, and egyptian rat-something or other…   As I always say, I’m so glad to have this group of friends.  We always have so much fun together.

This morning we had some people come and look at the house, so we spent our entire morning cleaning like crazy.

I ended up having a really bad headache-bordering-migrane during game night.  I am so so so so sick of my head hurting. I really don’t say much about my headaches/migranes because they’re pretty much a regular occurrance. I think I’ve just learned to live with my head/neck being in constant pain.  My migranes are so different than what they were before I had Porter.  They used to make me very light and noise sensitive to the point where I would have to drive with my sunglasses on even at night because the street lights hurt my eyes so bad.  Now they are more like really tight shooting stabs of pain through my neck and head.  Sometimes moving a certain way triggers it, sometimes standing up too fast triggers it.  Sometimes I just wake up with my head in pain.  The neurologist said that is normal for them to change.  He took me off my beta-blocker (quite awhile ago) and basically told me there’s nothing I can do about them other than take my migrane meds when my head hurts.  I seriously feel like I am drugged up daily.  I probably take a Darvocet or two at least 4 to 5 times a week, and my migrane medicine about twice a week.  It is rediculous.  I am scared to go back to my normal doctor because he said if they continue to be a problem he’ll have me admitted to the hospital to be monitored.  Well, when they did that after I had Porter the monitoring consisted of a nurse coming in and shooting me up with Demorol every 3 hours.  I have no idea how that solved anything.  Anyway, I just needed to vent a little.  I think I might try to go back to the chiropractor and see if that helps.  Its just so hard to fit that into my schedule. As it is, I run from school to wherever Porter is to get him.  I don’t know when I’d fit in the chiropractor without having to haul him along.  And that probably wouldn’t go over too well.  Anyway… this had turned out to be a whiney post.  Sorry…

Well, let me end on a good note. Here are a couple pictures from my session with the Huffs this weekend…

  1. Nic, The pictures look great. Very natural. So, should I book a date now for next year to have family pictures taken? 🙂

  2. Nici-ola,
Maybe you should go back to your doctor about your migraines…see if there are other meds. you can try? or maybe something else is wrong(not trying to scare you), but I don’t want you to take any chances. Also, once again, thank-you for the beautiful pictures, they’re really amazing…so candid!! You are truly a gifted photographer….and I’m glad we’re friends because you take a lot of pictures of the boys and I usually get free-bees quite a bit… I LOVE it!..Ha!Ha!

  3. Gorgeous pics, Nic!
I suffer from headaches all the time too. Mine are sinus related, but I think I need to go to a ENT Doc to see whats up!! I am sick of it too, on meds most of the time that help, but do not cure me…
