Lots of little updates

I’m going to pretend this is my "tagged" post… I’ve been tagged by numerous bloggers and I just haven’t gotten around to posting the 5 random things about myself.  This is going to be a totally random post, and I’m sure there will be at least 5 things about me somewhere in here.  Let’s kill two birds with one stone, ok?

• I have awesome friends. Really, I do.  I can honestly say I could die tomorrow and be so happy with the friendships I have (both near and far).  I recieved a card today from Katie, and I cried before I even finished reading it.  A handmade card.  With sweet, kind, thoughful, appreciative, make-you-feel-like-a-million-bucks words written inside.  I may not have a ton of close friends, but the ones that I do have, they are priceless.
• Congrats to my friend, Lisa, who just welcomed a sweet baby girl, Annabelle Marie, to their family.  Annabelle is absolutely gorgeous and perfectly perfect.
• I have to copy Heather’s link to this Dove commercial.  This needs to be played SO much more often.  Wow.  I bet we could all be model-gorgeous if we went through all of that… and had Photoshop done to every freaking picture.  Hmm… I wonder if I’d become the hottest photog in Jackson if I started doing that stuff to my clients pictures… hahaha!! HERE is the link.  It needs to be spread far and wide… to every girl and woman out there, young and old.
   
• I wore a pair of my dress pants yesterday that I hadn’t worn since BP (Before Porter).  Wow, let me tell you (this is for you, Katie)… I felt HOT.  HAHAHA.  I have been dying to be able to wear those pants again, and even though they were a bit more snug than they were BP, tit felt great to be able to wear them.  Now, if only I could get back into those two pair of dress pants from BM (Before Marriage…. get your mind out of the toilet, ok??)
• I designed one more holiday card (to see the others, check out my post from the other day).  I’m also thinking of making my cards available to non-clients.  If you have a photo that you want used on a holiday card you can email me the file and order your cards from me using your own image.  If anyone is interested, email me (nic073@sbcglobal.net).
  
• Tomorrow night the girls and I (my wonderful, wonderful girlfriends) are getting together to rehash our weddings.  On GN (game night) last weekend we were discussing weddings (Maria and Andrew got engaged… CONGRATS) and that was kind of our topic of the evening.  We thought it’d be so fun to have a "wedding themed" night… bust out the dresses and veils and look at our pictures and watch our videos.  We cracked ourselves up picturing us driving up and getting out of our cars in our wedding dresses.  Kind of a scary thought… I doubt any of them would fit us that well anymore.  Anyway, so we’re wearing our veils, eating ice cream and reminiscing over our once-skinny asses.
• I almost drove all the way to Lansing today to buy a baby gate, and after I decided I was too lazy to go by myself and made plans to go with Heather on Monday (sans-kids), I realized that DUH…. I could get it at Toys R Us in town.  So this evening my brother (Cam) and his girlfriend (Sam) went with P-Man and I to Toys R Us.  Porter got spoiled walking around with Sam and checking out all the toys and playing with their very-expensive Thomas the Train table set.  I got the gate I needed and hopefully tomorrow Ryan will install it.

   

• Hopefully this week we’ll be converting our guest room (aka junk-room) into Porter’s Play Room.  Yes, spoiled freaking kid.  Like he needs two whole rooms for himself.  Well, we figure after Christmas he really will.  I’m sure he’ll get loaded up with toys, and I’d like to bring the train table upstairs (even though he really won’t be able to play with it… but uhm… I bet I will!!).   It’ll also be nice for when Aria is over and when our friends and their kids come over we can hang out there or the kids can play in there and we can still see them from the living room (the playroom, as well as all our bedrooms, is right off our living room).   
• Here are a few pictures I wanted to share… I took Porter to the park
  last week.  I am hoping to be able to *hopefully* get a decent family
  picture while its still fall.  I hate having to use my tripod.  The
  pictures end up being so "posed" and most often out of focus.  Jess…
  why can’t you come up here and do my family pictures for me???? 
  Hmm… maybe I need to train one of my friends to be my photog
  assistant…..  We are also trying to figure out a day to go to Flavor Fruit Farms… but between the rainy, cold days and our hectic schedule…. ick.
