WOW

I can’t believe I have so many readers… and I know I have even more that haven’t come out of hiding.  I haven’t had time to reply to everyone’s emails/comments, so I thought I’d just post here and say "THANK YOU" for commenting… for letting me know you read.. I love it.

Well, I have some good news…. I have a job interview tomorrow.  I got called last week, out of the blue, from a principal at a local charter school.  He got my name from Spring Arbor University (where I graduated… for those of you who don’t "personally" know me) and he wanted to interview me for a Special Education position.

My interview is tomorrow.  The position is full-time pay, but without medical benefits (which is ok, for now, because Ryan has great benefits and we don’t have to pay anything for them), and the "required" hours are 8-2 (I say required because, honestly, what teacher never has to stay later??).  I would have an aide in my class, which would be more of a resource room rather than a self-contained SED room.  Awesome.

I’m a little nervous, as I’ve been told that often parents who don’t want to conform to public ed "suggestions" regarding their kids education often put them in charter schools (ie…. not wanting to put them on meds for ADD etc..)… not sure how true that is, I’m sure it is true in some cases, but not sure what majority.  Anyway, I won’t be heartbroken either way, I’d like the full time money, the foot in the door and the experience, but I also love where I work now and am ok working part time for the rest of the year, and possibly next year.

So, wish me luck… I hope I can answer their questions adequately tommorrow.

(Oh, btw… Porter is doing much better… slept through the night last night.  Thanks for asking about him!)
