alrighty… the zoo..

We had THE perfect day at the zoo.  Absolutely perfect.  It was 63*, sunny with a slight breeze.  Ahhh…. if every day could be like today.

All morning at work I was looking forward to our zoo trip.  Partly because it was Porters first "real" trip to the zoo (last Easter when he was 6wks old kinda doesn’t count…), and partly because I am so sick of being cooped up in the house!  I can’t wait to be able to take him to the park in the afternoons, and to go on walks and all that fun stuff.

I got lots and lots of pictures of… Porter’s back. HAHA!

I guess thats what I have to look forward to for the next couple years… a toddler on the go.   There were lots of "Woah!’s" and "oooohhh!’s" from Porter… he seemed to enjoy our trip.  I was afraid he wouldn’t, as he didn’t nap at all in the afternoon.  He just wasn’t tired enough on the way up (he was tired, but not THAT tired) and I was sure he would fall asleep in the stroller.  Well, he didn’t.  Too much to see and do!  (he did finally fall asleep on the way home).

He finally saw a chicken ("bock bock!") in person, and the monkeys were hilarious!!

I think his favorite part of the day was at the park.  He loved the swings.  LOVED them.  I got some great belly laughs and big grins from him.

Sawyer was such a big boy at the park… a true daredevil!  He was climbing all over and going down the big slides all by himself!  WOOO HOO!

Porter, on the other hand, got pretty much trampled in the tube thingy. Here he is… just seconds before getting trampled by the spastic big
kid and his friend that is protruding throughout my picture.  I guess
it was too much to think to wait for the little kid going through the
tube.  BOTH big kids barreled past Porter… one on each side of him in
that tiny tube.  Brats.

Besides that, we had a GREAT time. OHH I do have some funny things to post from the zoo… that’ll be tomorrow.  Just, uhm, some funny things.  HAHA!  Keep you waiting…

  1. Pictures of P’s back… that makes me laugh! I was thinking that same thing all the way home; that I took so many more pictures at the playground because I’m starting to learn that at the zoo all I get are boring pictures of the animals or the backsides of my kids LOL!
