The $100 trip to the zoo…

Let me do a little cost analysis of this…

Gas to drive up there…     ~$10
Admission                          Free (Heather has a zoo membership!)
Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens        $80
Dinner at McD’s afterwards   $6

Day at the zoo with Porter and friends…. PRICELESS

Yes, you read that right.  I’m going on my THIRD 50mm lens.  Dang, you’d think they’d make those things a little more resilient, huh??  My first lens I dropped, and this one… well… dropped.  At least it wasn’t attached to my camera.  But still… the insides pretty much sprung out.  Its gone.  And since thats the lens that is on my camera 80% of the time… its imperative that I order a new one STAT.  And, while I’m charging up the credit card with that, I’m ordering that friggin point and shoot so I don’t have to take my work camera to the darn zoo.  Its not like I need anything more than snapshots of P and the smelly animals.

I just have one pic edited from today (yeah, I’m a dork and I edit ZOO pictures HEE HEE!)
I love this picture.  Sawyer was running to Porter to give him a hug. And, for once, Porter welcomed it.  For about 2 seconds.

More on the zoo trip later.

FYI One lap around cascades is either 1.3 or 1.8 miles it depends on if you walk all the around my wendy’s or take the short cut! 🙂
