Something about this nice weekend has gotten me in the mood for some spring cleaning! I have been, as usual, slammed with loads of laundry this weekend, and when I got up this morning I decided to go through Porter’s room and pack up the baby stuff we don’t use anymore, rearrange his closet and dressers, and get a few boxes to fill with stuff for a garage sale this summer. I’ve kept up pretty good on packing away clothes he outgrows, but we still had a drawer of burpcloths that we hadn’t used in forever, as well as a lot of baby blankets that we never used. So, I went through everything, put away stuff that he’s recently outgrown, and designated some things to go to resale and some to go to a garage sale. It was bitter sweet. Kind of sad to pack away those things we used when he was an itty bitty guy. We don’t plan to have another for awhile (at least another year) so there’s no sense in keeping stuff out and cluttered.
I’ve also been attempting to go through my closet and also organize the living room and kitchen and playroom (that is scary!). It just seems like a lost cause to even try to clean as Porter just comes along behind me and tears it up again.
I did a little searching online for campgrounds for weekend trips this summer, and it looks like the summer is pretty much booked. We want to try to camp once a month this summer, but from the looks of it we won’t be going until Labor Day! We are supposed to go up north for Father’s Day weekend with Ryan’s family, and I put Ryan in charge of that trip long ago (as he always has something to bitch about with how I’ve planned our trips, so since I’m planning the Disney trip that following week, he gets to plan the trip with his family). Ryan still hasn’t contacted the campground to make reservations, so I’m highly doubting we’ll get in anywhere. July and August are booked at the State Parks, but we may be able to get in somewhere at smaller family owned campgrounds. And we did find reservations for Labor Day Weekend at Silver Lake, so after we hear back from some friends if they are going with us or not (so we can book sites next to eachother) we’re going to snatch those up.
Its been a nice, relaxing weekend so far. I haven’t worked a bit on pictures for any clients, and I’ve tried to just relax and spend time with Porter (other than my cleaning binges). He’s napping right now, and I think we’re going to go on a walk when he wakes up. Or maybe go to the park. I just love to take him to the park.
Ok, gotta run. Tummy is growling… haven’t eaten yet today.
