Well, Porter isn’t up. He has been up there fussing on and off, but no screaming worth getting him out of bed for. I picked up some Tylenol cold/cough and Hylands cold tablets for him, so maybe thats helping him sleep better?
I feel like I have SO much I’ve been wanting to blog about… nothing important, just funny little things I’ve come across during the day and made mental notes that they’d be funny blog entries. But then by the time I get around to blogging, I don’t have the energy to attempt to be funny. Funny posts will have to wait for another day. Tomorrow is my day off. I’m actually starting to like having Tuesdays off rather than Fridays. Its like the dreaded Monday comes around, and I make it through and then have a little day off, and then three days of work and then the weekend is here! Omg I totally act like I have a horrible job… is 3.3 hours of work 4 days a week THAT horrible? I think not. Well, anyway, I am liking my mid-week break. Its kinda nice.
This afternoon Porter and I went to the library. I was so excited to take him on his first trip. When I nannied, the library was always Aria and my thing. I started taking her when she was a little older than Porter… maybe 2ish… and we always walked up the front steps, counting them. It made me so proud when she eventually started counting with me! We’d go to storytime, pick out books, rent movies. It was our little place to go just for the hell of it.
And now, I get to take my own little man to the library. We walked up to the big steps, counted them as we walked up them (they were quite the hike for P-man… he’s just getting used to walking up steps like a big kid). We found the Florida/Disney books and then headed up to the kids floor. He was more interested in the I Spy book poster that was on the side of the desk. He walked around, pointing at things he could name. "Horse!" (which sounds more like "ahss" HAHA!), "Duck!" "Mooo!" "Book!"
I took my point and shoot to be a dork and take a picture of him in the library, but I forgot it in the car. Darn it!
Afterwards, we walked around downtown and took some pictures. Porter just cracks me up lately. He loves to walk/run with his arms up. He kept running towards the pilars/walls/parking cement thingys with his arms out and hugged them.
I actually got quite a few pictures of him today that I LIKE! That TURNED OUT. I swear I get SO MANY out of focus pictures of this kid. (Susan, see, I promise I take crappy pictures too!) But today, if he had been a client for a session, I’d have done ok. Not amazing, but ok.
We ended up at the church where Ryan and I were married. I thought it was only fitting that I take some pictures of Porter here.
In the courtyard there was this psychotic squirrel. First he was in the bushes with another squirrel. Porter was fascinated. Then he ran up to a tree, barking and squeaking at us. Porter followed him over there and we stood at the bottom of the tree and I swear this squirrel was no more than 2 feet above my head, barking at us, leaning toward us. I was afraid he was going to jump at our faces and bite us!
And this…. *SIGH*…. my little man… willingly holding my hand.

beautiful shots!! My favorite is the closeup of Porter’s face looking up into the tree. it sounds like Porter and Tiegan are pretty much on the same page developmentally, except it sounds like P is saying more real words. Running with the hands in the air… that’s the greatest, lol.
