Studying for an interview. Yeah, fun, right? I got a call the Thursday we were leaving for Florida (about 2 hours before we left for the airport) for an interview that following Monday for a 3rd/4th grade resource room position. I have a good "in" with this school… the principal is good friends with the husband of the teacher I student taught with. The same husband who was also on the interview committee for another job I interviewed for. So, this principal has spoke to both people about me (I say "people" however, I consider them friends, I’d say, well, at least the wife is a co-worker of mine at the moment) and he said they both said wonderful things about me. However, there was no way for me to make it to the interview time as I was going to be in Florida. Luckily, he was willing to postpone it a week and stupid me told them I’d be there at 4pm tomorrow.
Well, not bad if my plane didn’t land in Detroit at 2:01pm. That gives me 2 hours to get off the plane (with hubby and one year old in tow), wait for luggage, get luggage and wait for Lori or Don to pick us up, drive to their house in Dearborn and drop them off and drive the hour home, change clothes, freshen up, find portfolio and drive to the interview. Do you think I’ll make it? Uh…. I am not too optimistic about it.
I left the principal two messages last week asking if I could reschedule for the first thing Tuesday morning (I hated having to ask this!!) or possibly for 5:30 Monday, but I haven’t heard back from him! I don’t know what to do… I am going to call him in the morning but its not like the interview is with just him… there is a whole committee and they would all have to have reschedule too. UGH. Anyway, thats my complaining for the evening. I’m dreading the interview. I hate interviews. HATE them. I am so anxious and nervous about it, and I always end up sounding like an idiot.
Well, I need to study some more special ed things… freshen up as its been nearly two years since I’ve had anything to do with special ed.
Oh, by the way, where the hell are all my readers? Did you all crawl in a hole and die or something? Man, I update like a mad woman and no one seems to be around. HAHA!
