Don’t freak out… I’m still alive.

HA!  It seems like I’m always writing something like that around here… I go MIA for days at a time, and start to forget I even have a blog!  (ok, that was so untrue).

I’ve been swamped with a million pictures and a million things to do…. my vacation photos are starting to feel like WORK.  I’ve been trying to go through and edit the ones I want to bind (my lab offers print binding so I can make them into a little book and not have to worry about albums… especially nice since I have SO many pictures).  However, its not going to be one nice neat book… The binding is only up to 90 pages, so I’ll have one for each day of Disney (count:3), one for Sea World and one or two or maybe even three for the rest of the days.  And the price is not coming by so cheaply either… Ugh.   I really just want to get the prints ordered so I can have pictures to show friends and family, and eventually when I feel like looking at them again, I can reorder a few for scrapbooking (do I even scrapbook anymore?  Let me check… oh HARDLY!)

So what else have I been doing…

  • I have two sessions to finish proofing
  • one album to put together for a client
  • two client orders to mail out
  • working on my blurb book for my 2005 posts
  • experimenting with blogger templates for my soon-to-be-new-blog
  • trying to find "the perfect" name for my soon-to-be-new-blog
  • Tuesday I took Porter, Avery and Aria to the lake to swim.  I quickly remembered why, in the 5 years we’ve lived just 2 blocks from the lake we never go… duck poop galore and a nasty beach.
  • Today I took Porter to Ella’s Babies at the museum.  It was kind of a fun little get together for him and other kids his age.  I think we’ll try it again and maybe become museum members so that the class fee is free…
  • Samson got buzzed today… no pictures this year, but he looks the same as the last time we buzzed him.  Only, this time they asked about his tail and I just said "shave it all… shave all the hair" so now instead of a "labrador" tail he has what resembles a crooked rats tail with hair HAHA!
  • Attempting to clean and organize my ever-so-messy home
  • Trying to figure out plans for the rest of the summer
  • Looking for a daycare for Porter for the fall (since Heather had to go and move to Missouri!!)

I’m sure I could add a million other things to that list, but I won’t bore you.  Basically, I’ve been busy.  My plants outside are dying, my house is trashed, I’m keeping some really late nights and I’m way over tired.  Ugh.

In better news (cause I hate to sound like one of those super-negative-always-complaining-bloggers)… Porter had his first Push-Up the other day.  Ryan bought a box for Avery and Aria, and instead of waiting until Porter took a nap to give them to the girls, I decided to indulge him and let him have one too. It was so cute… he kept thinking the handle thing was a straw.  Good thing we ate them outside because he was MESSY!

Porter was so cute this morning.  I made blueberry muffins for breakfast and handed him one while I hopped in the shower.  I got out and found him sitting in his rocking chair watching his morning tv, in one hand was his muffin and in the other was a baby wipe.  He’d take a bite, and then wipe his mouth.  The whole time, his eyes glued on his show.  HAHA!

Tonight after dinner, Ryan and I took Porter to the park for about an hour.  I’m trying to be better at just taking those "happy snaps" and instead of hauling around my 50lbs of camera equipment I’m trying to use my point and shoot more often.  I took this of us today…

Love it.

  1. I’m glad I’m not the only mom who gives her child push-ups….I had another mom tell me there too sugary (what the heck??), just one push-up on a warm summer day….isn’t that what being a kid is about!!??

  2. Nicole, it is a GOOD possibility that there would be an opening at the daycare for Porter in the Fall if you are interested that is. What would his hours and days be? Just e-mail them over to me and I will get a rate around for you. Then you can decide if you want to go with it. As it is right now, I have two morning spots open, and I’m still waiting to hear back from 2 families as to whether they are a GO in the Fall or not. Just an idea, let me know! Thanks!
