Boys of summer

Today was a day filled with little one year old boys and nice cool swimming pools.

We went to Nixon Pool for a swim with some of the Cheeky Monkey mom friends.  We were joined by LeeAnn and Lukas, Stacey and Spencer and Ericka and Avery.  Both Lukas and Spencer are around 20 months (is that right?) and Avery and Porter are just a week apart!

Porter actually kept his shades on for most of the time, and, despite getting up at 6:45am he seemed to enjoy himself.  Not too many smiles out of my serious little dude, but he did have fun. 

We ran into Jordan Giglio, one of Ryan’s "boys" from coaching basketball.  He’s about 16 now, and working at the Nixon Pool.  Crazy to think that he and the other boys on the team were just 12 and 13 when Ry started coaching them.  I think its great that Ry is still kind of close to a few of the boys… they occasionally call and chat with him and even (gah!) some sleepover.  A house full of teenage boys…. I guess it just gives me a glimpse of what the future holds for our household!

After Porter woke up from his much-needed nap (he passed out in the car on the way home!), Katie had called us to join her and Donnie (who is just 6 weeks older than Porter) at her in-law’s pool.  So, for the second time today we hopped in the car and headed to the pool.  It was great to cool off, as it was near 95* here in Michigan UCK!

What a relaxing, stay-out-of-the-house day it was!
