Its a love/hate relationship with me and my flowers. I love to plant/landscape in the spring, and then once late summer/fall comes around I evaluate what and where I’ve planted things and then get another wave of ambition to replant and move things. Well, today is my day.
Last night I babysat Aubri and she was being a cranky ass and I decided I wanted to run to Menards to get hostas and some perennials for around our deck. Leslie came over and we took Aubri to Menards and Meijers and proceeded to fill up the back of the Durango with about $100 worth of flowers etc (NOT all mine). Good thing that third row folded down. After we left Meijer we ended up having to put the stroller in the second row next to the baby because the back was so filled up with plants. And know whats funny? We were in the Meijer Garden dept. picking out hostas and I saw this leafy plant that I had before at a previous house, and I told Les, "Hey if you need a pretty groundcover this is a good plant. It grows like crazy". We just looked at eachother and started busting up. Since when did our Saturday nights turn into shopping for plants with a baby and discussing "good groundcover plants"? Oh my. We ARE getting old.
So anyway, Aubri was a doll and enjoyed our little adventure looking for plants. She actually was a happy baby there (ok, she didn’t ACT happy, she just didn’t CRY anymore like she was doing at home).
Today, I woke up bright and early and started digging up plants I hated (Yarrow– ucky weedy looking thing. Don’t buy it) and putting in hostas and some hmm can’t remember what its called. I still have more to do, but I am on a break and had some breakfast. I’ll post pictures later.

I wish i had the time and energy and motivation to garden. Having 4 kids took that out of me. Plus i planted some STUPID lemon balm in my front beds and it has gone NUTS! That stuff is TERRIBLE! AVOID it!!! I have a lemon balm hell over here and dont know what to do to get it GONE! :O)
You little home-maker, you! I wish I could actually landscape my yard, but we are in an association. I love gardens, I bet your will be lovely! 🙂
OMG…I almost called you from the store today…I was in the GARDENING section, and was in desperate need of help. I need to do something to my backyard, and I’m totally intimidated by it. I’m just going to make you come up with something cool for me now…lol!
