Pictures of the yard

Ok, I said I’d post pictures… well you really can’t see much in these pics b/c the plants aren’t that huge yet. Maybe next year they’ll look better.

You can click on the pictures to view them a little bit larger.

Here’s the "front" of the house (actually the East side, but our main door is on it so its the "front")

And here is the "West Side" of the house, our Side yard, which is the yard humans use.  The dogs yard is the back of the house.  Around the deck I planted hostas, and in the center there are two Stonecrop plants and one Aster.  Along the side of the deck that faces the road is one Stonecrop.  Hopefully these plants will get bigger next summer.   All these plants are supposed to be about 2 ft high.

Standing on the deck, here is the view of our privacy fence (closer pictures to follow).  I had to piece two pictures together, so imagine that huge bend isn’t really there.

Now, here is the huge work I did.  I had a ton of plants planted along this 88′ privacy fence, but I dug most of them up and rearranged them.  Plants are in alternating groups of three.  Such as, at one fence post, there are an Azalea bush and two daylillies,  and at the next fence post there are two hostas and a purple plant (no idea of its name).  Around the big maple tree are 7 hostas.

Looking down the fence from near the road.  Can you see what I mean about ‘groups of three" at every fence post?

The hostas will get to be about 20 inches tall and about that much wide too.

The azalea bush should get to be about 4′ high and 3′ wide, that is if it doesn’t die on me.  The daylillies will get larger and have yellow flowers.

Here are the hostas around the tree.

Ok, well this is mostly for Jessica’s benefit- she wanted some ideas for landscaping.  Anyway, hope you enjoy.  EEEK I hope I will enjoy it next year. I hope they all grow nice and big.

  1. fun stuff that you have planted! It will be so beautiful! I planted some lavendar last year that is HUGE this year. I should probably get some pics of it- just in case we move. I also have a TON of Johnny Jump Ups- they went crazy beautiful this year. I planted the seeds two years ago and gave up on them- then they suprisingly POPPED up this year. I hope yours turns out more beautiful next year. It is so fun to see and be suprised! :O) Have a great day!

  2. You have been one busy girl! Your yard looks awesome and will look even better next year when the plants are a little bigger. Wanna come do mine?? LOL!
