Summer is ending….

It just hit me that in less than two weeks I will be student teaching.  I’m very very excited, but also really nervous.  Tomorrow I go into the classroom to help Missy and Gina set up the class and to check out the curriculum.   Next week will be my last full week babysitting, then it’ll be Saturday’s only.  I’m ready for that- definitely.  I think I’m getting burnt out of watching other people’s kids.  I have noticed I’ve been getting frustrated with them more easily and not nearly as patient.  It doesn’t help that there are many things they are allowed to get away with that I’d never tolerate in my own house.  So, I’m welcoming student teaching with open arms and I’m ready to start the next step in my journey. OH and I also need to go sign up for substitute teaching so if Missy or Gina are abset I can get paid to take over the class instead of a sub coming in and sitting there while I teach.

On another note, this has been brought up a few times to me by some frequent readers.  Awhile ago I mentioned my "Big Secret" and I never let on to what it was!  Well, most of you know by now that I’m pregnant- 11 weeks today!  Feel free to check out the baby’s blog.  I try to update it frequently, so I’ve been trying to keep this my "personal" blog and stuff about the baby separate.  However, it does get a bit difficult to do that since I happen to be sharing my body with him/her… so maybe Baby Barczak will get a few mentions on here.

I’ve decided I don’t like my haircut. I miss my long hair.  I’m sad that I cut it off, but its hair, and it’ll grow.  Hopefully my prenatal vitamins (ooh!  mention of baby!) will help my hair grow quicker.  Grow! Grow!  Grow!

I have a ton of stuff to get done today.

  • Balance Checkbook (yuck!)
  • Pay bills (double yuck!)
  • Take a shower and try to style my hair different (I’ll post a picture too)
  • Go to Leslies at 4:30. I’ve ditched my wonderful friend numerous times.  Man- I’m starting to think I need to get kicked to the curb!  Les put a little pond in her back yard and landscaped it and I still haven’t been over to see it!
  • Do laundry.  UGHHH.
  • Scrapbook?  I hardly ever scrapbook anymore.  I would like to get a few pages done today… we’ll see.

Well, that’s it for now.

  1. Nic,
After teaching for 7 years (including my student teaching), I have a love-hate relationship with this time of year. August is my only time off of the summer so I love the vacation, but sometimes it is hard to get motivated to go back. After the first day I am always ready though! Good luck with the student teaching!

  2. You sound like one busy girl! I hope your student teaching goes well! I’m sure you will be great at it & I think it will be a good change up for you. Good luck!
