Busy Busy…

I’ve been quite busy lately- not much time to post.

First off, I’d like to link to a post on the baby’s blog… quite a hilarious conversation went on last night between my husband and one of the kids he coached for the last two years.

Ok so lets see…recap of my week so far:

TUESDAY I had the day off and lounged around a bit… in the evening I went into the classroom with Missy and Gina to help get things more organized.  The classroom theme is "Aloha, Hawaii" and the decorations are so cute.  I need to be taking my camera in and getting pictures!  Its quite a long process to get a classroom ready for the school year- I never imagined it was so…. hectic.  And this is with THREE teachers getting it ready.  Well, this is also M and G’s first year teaching 2nd grade so they have been going through the other teacher’s stuff that she left behind for 2nd grade and they have to weed out stuff they don’t plan on using.  Monday starts Teacher In Service and I’m a bit nervous about all that…

YESTERDAY I worked… exhausting.  I can’t wait to be done.  Although I love these kids to death, their annoying habits and attitudes are wearing on me bigtime.  I will still see them on Saturdays, but I think that’ll be juuuust fine.  Leslie will be watching them during the week to take over.

Last night I FINALLY got to see Maria.  She’s been home from South Carolina since Friday, but I haven’t had a chance to meet up with her.  I met with her and Andrew, her boyfriend, and we did a photo shoot.  Then the four of us went to dinner at OUTBACK. YUM.  I stuffed myself beyond belief and suffered the unavoidable heartburn afterwards even after taking a Pepcid.  However, it was worth it.  Outback is gruub.  Maria and Andrew are going back to SC on Friday, BUT they’ll be moving back home in December (well, home to Maria.  Andrew isn’t from MI originally).  They were thinking of moving near Chicago (Andrew is a chef) but are leaning towards a bigger city in MI now.  YAY!  Closer to home is great. I miss seeing Maria more often than once every few months.

Here’s a pic of Maria and Andrew:

  1. Good luck getting your classroom ready! I bet you are so excited! You definitely need to post pics – the theme sounds so cute!

(Love that pic of Maria and Andrew, btw!)

  2. That is a gorgeous picture!
I do not go back to work until next MOnday and I have moved into a new, bigger room. Going to take me all week to get it organized! Good luck with the teacher inservice today!

  3. Hey, Nic. Lovely picture, its Maria’s favorite! She wants to order some prints. Well it was good seeing ya’ll again! 🙂 Take care.
