My mom came to town!
My mom was in town for a week. I just took her back to the airport today. It was so nice to see her again! Gosh I think the last time she was here was October when we had our ultrasound. And the next time she comes back Porter will probably be here (or he’ll be just about here!).
We had our babyshowers
Last weekend my friend Leslie threw me a shower with my friends and it turned out really nice! The cake was delicious!! YUUM. It was from some place in Canton and it was to die for. Porter got lots of nice gifts!
Yesterday we had a shower thrown by Cathy (my MIL), Lori (my SIL) and my mom. We had a great turnout and it was such a great shower! I had a good time visiting with everyone. We recieved some awesome gifts, too. I was up until midnight last night organizing and putting things away!
We finished our childbirth classes
Last Wednesday was our last class. They were pretty good- most of the stuff I was familiar with, but it was nice to know what our particular hospital procedures were. And I’m sure a lot of the information was new to Ryan. On Tuesday Ryan is taking a "Baby 101" class thats for dads and taught by dads. I’m curious to see how that goes.
I went to church today (alone)
Yup, all by my lonesome. My aunt and cousin were going to go to the early "fusion" (they don’t call them services) but Paige wasn’t feeling well so they were going to try to make it to the later one. And Ryan was being too darn lazy to get up and go with me, so I went all by myself. Well, I guess if you count Porter I wasn’t alone. 🙂 I think God was trying to tell me something, though, because once I got there and sat by myself, this guy came up to me and asked if he could sit by me. I’ve seen him around Spring Arbor before- he’s probably a bit cognitively impared (I’m using the politically correct educational term). He’s slow, lets leave it at that. At first he creeped me out- he kept staring at me and said my hair was pretty, and he liked my ring and I seemed like a fun person. He was getting into the songs and singing and kept asking how I clapped my hands (he wanted to clap the same way LOL). And he kept wanting to talk when I was trying to listen to the message/stories for the week. So, maybe God wanted me to know I wasn’t alone, and make me realize that others out there need company too.

:O) What a sweet guy!
