I was just emailed with the opportunity to have a 3 week sub job the end of the school year. Its in M and G’s class that I student taught in- 2nd grade. G is pregnant and if I remember correct she’ll be having a c-section and needs a sub for the last 3 weeks of school. I’d only teach in the afternoon (M teaches in the a.m) so from noon to the end of the day (3:30). I’m going to have to weigh the pros and cons though… half day sub pay is about $35 and I just talked to Kris at Angels (the daycare I worked at a few years back and where we’d planned on sending Porter this fall when I start working fulltime) and she thinks she will be able to get him in for that short term period AND being half day (which is great for an infant position- they fill up FAST at daycares) but that’ll cost us $14/day. Hmm… So really after taxes I’ll be making like $10-$12 for that half day of subbing. BLEH… but if I do take the sub position it would definitely be great for me to get out in the school system and get my foot in the door for a full time position this fall. Decisions Decisions….

I wish we were closer and you could drop Mr. Porter off at our daycare here while you’re teaching for a few hours. I know the girls would love it too. Wishful thinking.
Just do what FEELS right to you right now. Emotions and hormones are so hard after having a baby.
