I’m becoming pathetic today….

Three posts.  In one day.  Maybe even more.   Porter is napping right now (in his boppy NOT his bed..) and we just got back from a walk.  Aunt Dawn came over and we went up to JCC to walk the inside track but found out they’re setting up for some Home Show this weekend.  However, the weather was pretty nice today so I put Porter in his snowsuit and knit hat and into his carseat and stroller and we walked through the neighborhood.  If the sun had been shining it’d have been about a perfect day.  I am still amazed at how weak my legs are- my word I have some major getting into shape to do.  I was worn out and we only walked for about an hour.  Porter slept the whole way, of course- he was all snuggly and warm.  And its 2:40 so he’s been sleeping for the hour since we got back home.  Lazy boy.  Hopefully he’ll sleep good tonight though. He’s probably just working up his energy to wear out his dad when he gets home from work.  I pass him off to Ryan when he gets home and I take a little "Me" time.  Today I think I’m going to run up to the tanner and then take a shower (woo hoo… see what excitement my day consists of now?).

Speaking of life now… with a baby… and the things that now excite me…. I was cracking up yesterday on the phone with my friend Katie.  Her little boy is 8weeks old now and we chatted for about an hour about different things dealing w/the babies (eating, sleeping, first time mommy worries, stupid phone calls to the doctor etc…). Well, we got on the subject of gas and pooping and she began telling me about how she sometimes has to pick up her son to get him to pass gass because he gets so cranky.  Then she asks "Can you hear when Porter poops?"  me: "Oh yeah he scrunches his legs up and then kicks them out and farts."  Katie: (laughs) "Yeah and it sounds like diarrhea"  me: "Yep, really loud and wet fart sounding"  Then we stopped and were cracking up after realizing we were having this detailed conversation about our sons pooping.  What have I become???

  1. I am so enjoying reading your blog. What adorable pictures of my great-nephew! I especially love the ones of him dreaming and the slide show. He is very blessed to have a talented Mom like you to chronicle his first days. Hang in there, Nic! There will come a day when you can’t get him OUT of bed!
Much love and admiration, Aunt Linda

  2. Life will NEVER be the same again. Just wait until he is older and does really really gross things like play with his belly button and then come tell you it stinks. LOL. WE now clean out all our belly buttons with Qtips! A new use for the handy things! LOL. Sorry if that was TMI!
