Today we mourn the passing of the beloved 50mm 1.8 lens…

Yes, you read that right.  My lens… my wonderful 50mm lens.. is gone. Smashed. Not on purpose (as my hubby assumed when I told him the devastating news..) but it happened in a tragic way.  See, I was attempting to take some pictures of Porter and I, which was a difficult task in itself to try to get the focus correct and get the baby to cooperate.  Afterwards, I took my camera downstairs to upload the pictures to my computer.  My computer chair got caught on the USB cord and yanked my camera to the ground.  I assumed it was ok, as the photos were still uploading.  I only got one good picture out of the bunch (see below) and went upstairs to try to take a few more.  At this point, my camera would not focus.  I panicked- praying it wasn’ t my camera body that broke.  I switched lenses and my other lens worked fine.  As I inspected my beloved 50mm lens I noticed that it, indeed, was badly damaged and there is no saving it.  I am in mourning… I am lost… I don’t know what to do without it!

The last photo taken…. just moments before its tragic death…
