Porter is getting to be so sweet. He’s full of smiles and giggles lately, and he’s becoming much easier to entertain and more content when he’s not being held. He has started smiling at his toys and smiling when you talk to him.
The other night I put him to bed around 8 (this is becoming his normal bedtime in a way) and he woke up around 12:30 (again, getting to be normal for his 1st feeding). He ate, and at 1am he was still awake. I, however, was still tired. So, I put him in his bed and turned on his musical aquarium thing. I closed his door, closed my door, turned off the monitor and set my alarm for 3 hours later (so I could wake up and turn the monitor back on to hear when he was up again for his next feeding). He woke up around 4:30am, ate again, and again I put him back to bed awake. He went to sleep on his own. I woke up at 7:30 and went to check on him- he was laying in his bed babbling away. 🙂 🙂 🙂 For an instant I felt guilty that maybe his heart was broken and he had decided his momma didn’t love him enough to stay up and chat with him in the middle of the night when he was ready to party, but the guilt passed quickly and I decided he was just becoming happier and more content on his own.
Last night, he slept from 9:30ish to 2:30 and then was up again at 6:30. At 6:30 I brought him to bed with me and guess what time we woke up? 10am. TEN IN THE MORNING! My little man snuggled with me until 10am! I seriously needed that sleep.
And, as you’re reading this you might be thinking… what happened to your "schedule"? Yeah- the schedule has gone out the door. Maybe next month we’ll get serious about the schedule. For right now I’m just going to see if things start to regulate on their own. I’ve noticed sort of a pattern with his sleep… he usually wakes up around 7 or 8am (when his momma doesn’t make him sleep in till 10) and then is up for about 2 hours. He then takes about an hour to two hour nap, and then stays awake for about 2 more hours. Then around 1 he takes about a 3 hour nap, and then stays up for a few hours. In the evening, around 6/7 he takes a short nap and then goes to sleep at 8 or 9. Those times vary, but that seems to be about the schedule. Maybe?
Know what I just realized? I seriously just wrote about the most boring post in the world. Sorry.

Oh lord, don’t feel guilty! He was probably just on the phone with Morgan! LOL He’s always awake in there when I go in to get him. My alarm goes off at 7:30 so I don’t actually ever know when he gets up. He’s quite happily yapping to himself and chewing the on the crib bars, good times! If they get bored, trust me, they’ll let you know!
Love the new layouts, you Blue Crewer, you!
