Friday and Saturday my mom and I went to some garage sales to see what kind of fun stuff we could get. I’ve always liked garage sales, but before having Porter there really wasn’t much for me to hunt for. I’m too picky about my clothes to find anything I like at a garage sale, and household things are pretty much hit or miss at sales. But kids stuff— now thats another story. Garage sales are perfect for finding clothes, toys and baby gear at bargain prices. On Friday my mom and I found one of those Johnny Jump-up things for $5, and on Saturday I bought a booster/highchair seat (the exact same one in the link) for Porter for $5 and they’re both in perfect condition. He also got a Gap sweatshirt, some Old Navy cargo khakis for the fall, and some sleepers and a sweatsuit (that he looks adorable in). And some Peek-A-Blocks. By Saturday afternoon the sales were bombing, everything that was left was baby crap from 10 years ago that needed to just be thrown away. So, this week we have plans to go early Thursday and get the very first of all the sales, and possibly Friday. I’m babysitting Aria on Friday, but I think she’ll enjoy going too.
We had free Starz movie channels this weekend from SBC, and we DVR’d a bunch of movies to save for a rainy day. Tonight we watched Hitch– good movie. I recommend it. Love the dancing scene at the end.
Remember how I thought I was getting sick? Well its way past that point. By Thursday my throat was really sore, Friday my throat was better but my sinuses were congested and my body was achy, last night I could’ve sworn I busted an eardrum- my ear ached so bad. Today I’ve just been coughing and battling congestion. I hope I get over it soon.
Only ONE WEEK until Porter and I go visit Jessica! I’m so so so excited!

Garage sales are a blast. I went CRAZY for outside toys one year. I was ON A MISSION to find the little tikes picnic table and outdoor stuff for the kids. I would get up so stinking early. It was so hillarious- seeing all the same cars at all the sales- we would all seriously RACE for the cool toys- it felt SO GOOD to get there first and be buying something cool when they would pull up and be bummed. LOL- i am so mean. Around here- at about 10am- the sales get crappy- all the good stuff is picked over- but it is fun to get great deals on things that kids grow out of so fast.
