Wonder where I’ve been?

busy.  busy busy. 

I do have some random things to share, though… and lots of new Porter-things. 

• G had her baby on Tuesday.  Palmer Kay Fortress was born weighing 9lbs 14oz. You can see her gorgeous picture on the Foote Website

• Porter has been doing lots of fun new things. 

  First off, he’s wiggling all over the floor now.  We lay him on his playmat and he eventually ends up on the hardwood floor.  My mom stopped by the other day and I was downstairs and P was up on his mat… my mom said when she walked in the door he was off his mat, on the wood floor, laying next to the dog.  Oh my. 

  We also find him in some interesting positions in his crib… once his arm was sticking out through the bars… another morning I walked in to find both his legs sticking straight out the bars- too funny.   

  Today he also ROLLED OVER from his back to his belly.  For the last few weeks he’s been working those muscles and swinging his legs up and around… so we have figured he’d get to that point soon.  However, I missed the action.  I left him upstairs, on his back on his mat.  I went downstairs to plug my camera into the computer to upload the pictures off my memory card, and when I got back upstairs he was on his belly… all except his arm, which was stuck underneath him.  I couldn’t use my camera because it was in the middle of uploading pics.  Luckily, however, I happened to have my Aunt Dawns camera in my purse (long story) so I snapped some pictures with that. I’ll have to get her cord to upload those pictures onto my computer and share them.  Here are some of Porter attempting to roll…

• I have two shoots this week… one is today with my cousin Rachel. I’m VERY excited about this.  She is such an interesting, trendy, fun teenager- I just know she’ll be a natural in front of the camera.  We’re going to downtown Jackson for the pictures. I’ll definitely update later with proofs from the shoot.  Later this week I’m doing pictures with this ADORABLE family… M, the a.m. teacher in the class I’m subbing in.  She and her husband have two darling little kiddos.  We were supposed to do the shoot today but its 90* out and she thought the kids might not do so well in the heat.  So, we’re rescheduling for later this week. I’ll update with those pictures later also.

• I might possibly have a job this fall!  Not a full time teaching position, but as a Language Arts Specialist, part time.  It’d be M-Th, half days.  I could also sub M-Th in the afternoon if I wanted to.  I spoke to the principal last week about it and its possible that there will be a couple of those positions open.  Addison school district is also looking for a K-12 learning disabilities teacher, so I’m going to apply for that this week also.  I’m excited about these prospects…so pray something good comes my way!

  (yes, he’s on his belly… despite all the SIDS hype about putting them on their backs to sleep. At night he does sleep on his back, but for naps I sometimes put him on his belly so his head doesn’t get too flat.  Yes, thats what I said- I’m worried his head is getting flat on the back.  He also goes to sleep easier on his belly with a little butt-patting)
