Never caught up

Ugh.  I had planned on scrapbooking this evening, but did that happen?

no.

I did somewhat organize my scrapbook and office area, and managed to backup the millions of photo files on my computer.  I burned about 7cd’s of pictures and deleted a ton of files off my computer.  I take WAY too many pictures of this kid.  I need to start getting selective with my photos.

See, my process is this… I take a million pictures.

I load them onto my computer, naming the file the date.

Then I go through and select my favorite pictures to proof and save them to a proof folder within that dated folder.

Now, when I was going through to save the files to cd, I thought- I really should just delete all those pictures that aren’t so great and that I’ll probably never proof.

I selected them and went to hit delete.

And I couldn’t do it.

I thought "what if I don’t have a picture of that expression or look on his face?"

Oh. My. Word.

I’m insane.

So, it boils down to this.  I will end up with WAY to many cd’s full of pictures that Porter will probably never care to look at.

I print the best of the bunch and thus far the kid has about an album for each month of life.

It’s not looking so good for our photo album cabinets. Yes, I said cabinets.  Two of them.  Full of photo albums.  And somehow in the near future I see us needing about 10 more to hold all the pictures I’ll take of Porter and our future kids.

Scary.

  1. LMAO I am like that too! Brad mocks me but I’m like I can’t delete my baby!!! I have them in an online album, a folder on the computer and on the card. You’d think I could erase some from the card but it’s so hard! I just went and bought another card the other day to avoid doing it!!

  2. LOL… I know what you mean, I can’t delete photos either… I know whenever I have kids the habit will become even worse!!! Good luck with your photo album cabinets!!! LOL!
