Jackson Co. Fair, super easy peanut butter cookies, and what else…..

We went to the fair today with the Morrisons and what a perfect day we had!  We went just before noon and there were no crowds, yummy greasy food, and a beautiful day… perfecto!  I think we’ll have to try this time again next year.

We mostly went through the animal barns, walked around the midway (isn’t that what its called??), and ate lots of greasy, bad foods.  Being around the barns brought back memories of going to fair with Lacey… sleeping in the horse barn, running around the fairgrounds all week, being 14 and carefree.  Oh to be a kid again.  Ryan was laughing at me because I decided I wanted two things eventually… a farm (and for my kids to do 4-H so I can relive my childhood HAHA) and a cotton candy maker.  Man they charge an arm and a leg for spun sugar!

Porter seemed to enjoy the hustle and bustle… he refused to fall asleep, which is normally a given when he’s in his stroller for awhile.  Nope, not today.  He woke up at about 10:45 and stayed awake until 3ish when we left.  He wasn’t really cranky, though, so I’m glad he stayed awake to enjoy the fair.  Thats why we went, anyway, right?

Anyway, here are a few snapshots from today… (as well as a new banner to enjoy!

OHH and about the peanut butter cookies…. I was craving more bad-for-you-foods and we really need to go grocery shopping.  We did, however, have 3 jars of peanutbutter (I have no idea why) and that make me think of this super easy peanut butter cookie recipe I had.  So I made cookies.  And they were yummy.  And I might have to start Weight Watchers again soon…. HAHA!

I wanted to share the recipe:

EASY PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

1 cup sugar
1 cup peanut butter (any kind… cruncy, creamy, reduced fat etc..)
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla

Mix all ingredients together and drop by spoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.  Bake at 350* for 10 minutes.

Easy.
Yummy.
Go ahead…
Try it!

  1. MMMM…I might have to try the cookie recipe. I thought about you and Lacey the other night when we were at the fair. There were so many kids there just hangin’ in the barns with their animals and friends. Looked like they had been there all week long.

  2. So cute, looks like you guys had fun! I think Sawyer is another Morgan – I was looking at his pictures on your friends blog! Got to love a chunker! I think Morgan is about 28.5 or 29lbs at 11 months.
