I got a job!

Its not a full time teaching positiong, but its my foot in the door.

I’m going to be a Language Arts Specialist (aka Literacy Coach in some schools..) at Bean (the school I did my student teaching at) in a 1st grade classroom.  The principal called me today and I happily accepted!

The only downside is it is only 12 hours a week (M-Th, 3.2 hours a day), so I’m kind of stressin on the daycare situation.  The cost of it and finding somewhere part time.  Hopefully I’ll still be doign preschool with Aria, so that will supplement my income a little, and if that falls through (which wouldn’t surprise me with my luck!) I’ll try to sub (which would be more stress on the daycare/money situation).  Anyway… I’m happy for the job, but still wishing it were a full time, salaried position.  Oh well, gotta take what you can get.  This will be my foot in the door and hopefully next year something will open up full time.

And then I was looking at the school schedule… and started to freak out.  School starts September 5th, but staff goes back the 29th… NEXT TUESDAY!  I have one week left of freedom!  YIKES.

  1. Yaay for you!! That’s exciting… at least you have something to start with!
Let me know if you want any help with the childcare situation. I’m here for ya 🙂
    Congrats!!!

  2. Very cool!! I was going to say after the ‘freezer’ hype, maybe it was a hint that God just wanted you to stick with making beautiful pictures for everyone to enjoy. Now you can do BOTH things you love AND be with Porter too!!
