Broken Caterpillar

Earlier today I had a million things on my mind to blog.  And now that
I finally have time to blog… I can’t think of those things!

  • American Baby magazine had a mini-article (ok, not really an article, but a paragraph) in their nutrition section about new Wateroos for kids.  They’re basically water in a box that resembles a juice box. Very cool, if you ask me.  Great way to get kids to drink more WATER.

Here are some interesting things  to learn about juice and water…

  • Found a neat baby website, www.eeboo.com.  I love the tot towers they have… super cute!  They have lots of unique baby/toddler/kids toys.  Reminds me a lot of Land of Nod style stuff.
  • The 300 Millionth American will be born this year… somewhere.  Check out Gerber300 to keep track!
  • Trivia (from Gerber300 website)… did you know that the most babies are born on Tuesdays?  The least babies are born on Sundays.  (could be true… Porter was born on Tuesday!)
  • I’m using a new internet browser… Ryan Morrison recommended FireFox by Mozilla… so far I like it.  The pages come up in tabs insted of different windows, which is super neat.  Thanks!
  • Found this really cool company. The Baby Bunch, that makes baby clothes gifts into bouquets of flowers.  Really super neat.  I bet it’d be easy to do yourself, though… I might have to try it.
  • Ryan said the other day, of Porter’s crawling:  "He looks like a broken caterpillar."  HAHAHA.  It is so funny to watch Porter try to crawl.  He is still so uncoordinated.  He either is doing the army crawl, or crawling on his knees, one hand and one elbow.  Today I had a Kit-Kat wrapper (the shiny foil part) on the floor next to me, and this kid BOOKED IT across the floor to get to it.  His feet were going a mile a minute and he was tripping all over his hands.  Yeah, broken caterpillar- definitely.
  • This is my second week of school.  I am surprised I haven’t posted about it yet.  Its going good.  I’ve mainly been testing kids and finding their reading levels.  Pretty boring stuff, but it has to be done.  I finished with my last student today, so hopefully by next week we’ll start centers and the fun will begin.  I have lots of ideas of what I want to do with the kids.
  • One of the little guys today made me a plaster monster and put it on my desk (which is essentially a round table in "my corner" of the room).  He said he made it for me, and was all proud looking. What a sweetheart.  And one of the little girls looked at me, as we were lining up for our practice fire drill, and said  "You always come here and you’re so pretty."  AWWW.  They sure know how to make you feel good without even knowing it.  Kids are awesome.
  • I guess that’s about it for now.  I have a few ideas in my head for scrapbook pages, so I want to get it written down on paper before I forget.  And hopefully scrap tonight.  If I think of more, I’ll add it later.    Adios!

  1. Hey Nic, I liked the blocks from eboo.com. Very unique. Thanks for the post. Oh and from the one the other day, don’t worry, you are on the top five to call!!! Have a great day.

  2. they have flavored water (calorie free) that comes in containers like capri sun too. the kids at my old daycare LOVED them…they thought they were drinking juice…nope, sorry kid. mama tricked you! 🙂

  3. Hey, This has nothing to do with this post, but I was in this coffee house this morning and they had this photographers work on display. I picked up a business card with her website on it. Her name is Amy Smith. Her website is http://www.amysmithphoto.com. She has some nice work. My hormones must be crazy today, because with the music and baby pictures I was sitting her crying watching the slide shows. Aahhh….the joys of being pregnant.
