I want my sweet baby boy back!

The last few days Porter has been quite the pill.  I have to say, Ryan and I have been very spoiled with such a great baby.  We are beside ourselves with this cranky munchkin that has taken over our sweet dude.  We even took him to the doctor yesterday because he was not acting at all like himself. Heather (my friend who watches him on Mon/Weds) even said he wasn’t acting normal.  The doctor said his ears and throat looked fine, and that she had seen (ahhh see how I used SEEN??? err should I have said She had saw HAHAHA) anyway… back to the post… she had seen (eww now it sounds so weird because I keep thinking about that word) a lot of kids that day that were acting like they weren’t feeling well.  She said hopefully in a week he’ll get back to normal.

WHAT?  A week??? AHHHHHHCCCCk.

So, tonight I was ready to skip town because he was so insane.  He didn’t want to play, didn’t want to be held, didn’t want to rock, or sleep or eat or anything.  He just wanted to whine and fuss.

GRRRR.

So, I confined him and rocked with him for about half an hour, while he wriggled and twisted and thrashed all over my lap.  I figured eventually he’d fall asleep. Nope.  We finally tried a bath (in the big tub!) and that kept him happy for over half an hour!  So… guess what Porter will be sporting tomorrow if he is cranky again??  Really wrinkly toes.

Some new things Porter’s done lately (other than be fussy and cranky):

  • He started eating the Gerber fruit puffs and biter biscuits.  He seems to enjoy them so far.  Tonight he had some cut up banana for dinner (he wouldn’t eat his peas).  He seems to have the chewing motion down pretty good…

He’s been crawling all around the house, getting into every nook and cranny.  He really likes to crawl underneath the coffee table.  He tries to go under on his hands/knees but bumps his head, so he resorts to army crawling and just hangs out under there.  Dork.  The other day he was chasing his shadow and going after the dogs’ water dish.  Hmm…. is he starting to take after our dogs (Ramsey has OCD with shadows…)

I was going through my picture folder on my computer today and found a file of pictures I hadn’t edited yet.  I also found this sweet picture of Porter…. I’m so glad I found it.  It is soooo his personality… definitely a ‘Porter Expression’.

And then I found these pictures from a few weeks ago when my mom brought Porter a balloon…

And one last picture….  Zoey and her shoelace drool strings…. staring down a squirrel.

  1. Three comments:

    1. I love the picture of Porter in his rugby shirt. Very cute and very Porter.
    2. It’s funny how you corrected yourself while you were typing. I need to start reading out loud what I type, because when I go back and read the content, it sounds like I barely graduated high school.
    3. The picture of Zoey is cute. The drool does not even look real because it is so long.
Have a great day! Talk to you soon.

  2. Love that pic you discovered of porter. I hope he snaps out of it. The little girl I am watching right now was the same way yesterday- but she is getting sick. Anyway I hope he gets better for all involved!
