Wow.

What a weekend!

I am EXHAUSTED. I really should be in bed, oh, say five hours ago…. I am lacking in sleep majorly.

My total travel time from Detroit to Jaxonville, FL (with a layover inbetween) was around 6 hours.  Yuck.  That made my actual time in Georgia pretty limited.

We had a great time though.

Jess was THOROUGHLY surprised… (please don’t kill me for posting this!! Oh, wait… you’re in GEORGIA!!!!)

And we were all pretty pleased with our abilities to pull off this surprise party.   I only wish I had been able to stay longer.   Saturday, Katelyn and I arrived in Kingsland (Jess’s town) around 1:30 or so.  We spent a little time setting up with Jess’s inlaws, and then just sat around and chatted until Rachel brought our unsuspecting victim to the scene.  We were all shaking and nervous when the door opened.  Jess was floored.  It was awesome!  When she saw I was there (she didn’t notice me at first, with my camera up) I could have sworn she was going to fall over trying to run across the living room!  (Imagine Scooby Doo— when he tries to run… and he’s running in place).

Here we all are (except Elyse and Karen and baby Dylan)

We ate, laughed, chatted, opened gifts and just had some good ol’ girl time Saturday evening.   Everyone except Rachel, Elyse and Karen stayed the night (big sleepover!!) and Katelyn, Jess and I stayed up WAY too late (because SOMEONE wouldn’t shut her mouth… ahem ahem… Jeeeessss).  I woke up Sunday with a migrane (probably from lack of sleep) and took some meds and rested in Alyssa’s room. Everyone took off on their separate ways around 9:30am except Katelyn, Jess and I (and Alyssa, of course).  We headed to Fernindina (did I spell that right) Beach to take some pictures downtown.  I looove some of these I got of Jessica and Alyssa.

I am glad I went.  I missed Porter terribly, and on my way home, every baby I saw in the airport I got teary-eyed watching.  I missed my little man!  I couldn’t wait to snuggle him and kiss his little face.  Ryan did great, and actually got out the door on time on Saturday (probably because he doesn’ t have to dry and style his hair or do makeup… with a baby at his feet), but once he got to class he realized he left his backpack and all his homework at home.  Too funny.  Porter did fine with out me. We talked on the phone a couple times each day, and I loved hearing his little babble.  AUUGH I just love that kid.  When I got home I snatched him up (bad mommy… it was midnight!!) and snugged and rocked him for a little bit before I crashed.

Well, thats my update.  Great weekend.  Tiring weekend.  Its going to take me all week to recover!
