I’ve been a little addicted to posting some "inspiring" quotes lately. I seem to always find inspiration and motivation in quotes, especially when I’m going through times in my life that seem "low". I found this quote on The Larsen Family Blog, (which I’ll definitely be stalking more often.. Kelly has some amazing newborn portraits… which I sure need inspiration for!) Anyway, here is the quote..
Too often we are scared, scared of what we might not be able to do,
scared of what people might think if we tried, we let our fears stand
in the way of our hopes. Why? There’s really no time to be afraid. You
have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Everything! ~

Wow cool huh? I can so relate to that quote. Mainly with my photography in mind. I know I have many things to learn, and leaps and bounds to improve before I’m the "amazing" photographer that I aspire to be. But I am always so hesitant to take risks, to put myself out there, to admit that I’m "good" at what I do. I am always so intimidated at what others might think… so what if my clients think my works is awesome. I never seem to take it to heart and believe them. And I should, I should trust myself, trust what I do a little more. Everyone has room to improve in what they do, and I definitely do have room to improve. But that doesn’t mean I’m not good.
So… there’s my deep post for the day.

As a Wedding Consultant & someone who’s seen your pics over the years, I have always loved your photos and would recommend you to anyone looking for a great photographer.
Plus, if you think about it, when it’s time for Porter (& siblings) to attend school, the yearly ‘class photos’ and ‘Senior pictures’ will not only be old hat for him to pose for…but you’ll save money since the pics YOU take are so much more beautful to share than the generic ones that other portrait studios do!!
Just my opinion though.
Girl your work is beautiful!!! Be confident!!! :O)
I know what you mean though- I like some of my work, but not all of it- I know it could be a lot better- especially when I look at other people’s work (like yours). I dream of being better- I guess the best way to do that is to keep at it and trust people’s compliments! :O)
I can not wait to see some shots of your next shoot! :O)
And you are so good at what you do….How does it feel to know someone out there is aspiring to be as good as you? Because I am;) Keep up the beautiful work Nic you are an inspiration to me.
