This is what ONE looks like

I can not believe I am the mother of a one-year-old.  Where has the last year gone by?  Its so weird to think back and, exactly a year ago right now I was just getting settled into my hospital room, after being moved from L&D, and had a 3 1/2 hour old baby boy.  Now, he’s one.  ONE!

Porter’s day started out rough. I had a 2 hour delay because of the fog, and I had thought Porter and I would get a little time to spend together before he went to Heather’s.  Well, lets just say we spent time together, but it sure wasn’t quality and it SURE wasn’t fun.  I would have rather been at work. He was SO whiny and clingy and I wished I could have shook him from my leg like a dog does a pesky fly.  UGH. 

By the time we got to Heathers I was so ready to go to work.  Poor Heather.  I felt horrible  that she had to deal with him today.  Even SHE said she’d never seen him this crazy.  (ok, she said unhappy.  Crazy is my term for his behavior… it WAS!!).  I got a call on my way to her house to pick him up, she told me he was doing fine.  He had crashed on the floor on a pillow!! HAHAH!  Thank goodness she thinks like me… she took pictures 🙂 

She even made him a little Birthday Hat.  Have I said how much I just love Heather??  You’re the best. You put up with SuperBrat (yeah, I know it was only an hour and a half, but I’m sure it felt like a week!!), and you even made him a little birthday hat!!

I transferred him to the pack n play and he slept for 3 hours.  It must have been much needed, as he woke up and was his normal happy self (although somewhat starving as he’d fallen asleep before having a chance to eat lunch!!)

We went to dinner at Bone Island Grill later with Heather, Ryan and the kids.  Porter wore his birthday hat there, and did "ok".  He got whiny towards the end, and refused to eat his grilled cheese (the one item on the kids menu I was positive he’d scarf down).  Nope, he only wanted fries.
