A little funny…

From this weekend.

The town we went to, Evart, is super small.  I mean SMALL.

Friday night, we went to the local grocery store, I think it was called "Fosters" or something like that.  We walked in, and there were 3 lanes open, and maybe 4 other customers in the entire store.

We walk through the aisles… get our food for the weekend, and go to the lanes.  The three cashiers were all chatting, no one in any of the lines.

So, we go to the first lane.  I start to put something on the lane thingy mover belt and the girl walks over and says…

get this…

"Oh, I’m sorry… I’m the Express Lane Only."

She must have seen the confused look on my face (not that I didn’t understand her… but that she actually SAID that)

and she added… "Its for 12 items or less."  And she walked away.

OH MY WORD… as if there were hoards of people lining up to use the Express lane?  OH hahahahah!  I mean, really… there were probably 3 other sets of people in the entire store shopping.

And the funnier (is that a word?  b/c spell check didn’t get it…) is that she ended up bagging our groceries HAHA!

  1. Geez…seems stupid, but, usually the express lanes can only accept a certain cash/credit limit. I wonder what they would do if they had a check yourself out (or whatever they’re called) lane? They’d probably just look at each other like deer in headlights.

  2. People amaze me! I swear kids are not raised the same in this world anymore. Something is seriously missing upstairs in most of the younger kids anymore- there is no such thing as manners, courteousness, being polite, etc.

Do people still teach their kids to open doors for people and not to push and to say please and thank you? It is getting so sad. I hope my kids don’t end up lacking the nice gene.

I mean good heck- I am sure her boss would have gasped and let you check out there. YIKES!

Ok sorry for the ramble post. Eeek.

  3. HAHA. I have family that lives in Evart. They live on a farm. My uncle runs a printing business up there, and my other aunt and uncle used to own the grocery store… LOL
