A few laughs

I’ll start out by saying today has been full of highs and lows. 

My camera MIGHT not be broke… I think I just suck.  I got some really horrible pictures today, and some really awesome pictures today.  With my camera.  Two different times of day.  Two different locations.  I don’t know.  I’m going to continue little tests and see if I can get my kinks figured out QUICK.

I had a nice chat with Misty today… she’s in the Chicago area and we chatted briefly about me coming to visit for a day or two.  I might have to take her up on that.  She sounds like such a fun person.  She’s so sweet.

Yesterday, I did a whole group lesson with the kids at school.  I wanted them to write a "story" (thats in quotes as this is first grade, so they really don’t write true stories yet) using First, Next and Last, and it would be about them searching for something, trying to find something they lost etc. 

One kiddo in class, Steele, is so funny when he writes.  He has great voice in his writings.  I actually student taught with his mom, and I know exactly where he got his humor from.  Here’s his paper…. (click to make it larger)  When I gave them ideas for what to write about, he had piped up that he once lost his mouth guard and had never found it.  So, I said "Great topic to write about!  Maybe you can write about your search, or where you might find it!"

In case you have trouble deciphering his spelling, it says this:

"Mom, I lost my mouth guard.  I looked in mouth but it’s not in there.  I looked in my sock and it was not there.  I looked in my underwear.  I found it it was in my underwear! I’m going to wash it."

Is that not the best thing ever?  I am about to frame it and hang it by my computer.  It makes me smile to read it. Oh wow…. once I reread this post, I realized that he didn’t even use the time order words that he was supposed to use.  Ooops!

Here are some other fun pictures… Porter LOVES to run around naked after bathtime.  I meant to take "a few" pictures of his tiny naked booty, but he was so darn cute I ended up taking a ton! Blackmail later on… HAHA!

I think thats it for now.  I have more to write… just don’t feel like it.
