Our day started out well. Porter didn’t wake us up until almost 9am! Sweet!
We hung out for a bit, and then we got in touch with the Morrisons to meet up at the park for some outdoor hanging out and lunch. The weather was perfect. We just went up to Vandercook Lake and played for about an hour. Porter seemed to have fun… he and Sawyer were pretty interested in the lake. Porter was going down the slides all by himself… unfortunately it
seems that his head is heavier than his body, as his tennis shoes kept
sticking to the slide and he’d flip forward and pretty much tumble down
head first. Poor kid! Good thing he’s tough!
This was taken about.46 seconds before he tumbled down head first…
Oh my gosh… who is that!! Look! I appeared in a photo! Too bad I look like hell. (yes, Heather, I had to fulfill my quota today)
Porter’s real thrill of the day was seeing the "TRUCK!" in the parking lot… all he wanted to do was walk over to see the ambulance. Crazy boy.
I had a session this afternoon that went amazingly well. I used Lauren’s 24-70 f/2.8L lens, and let me tell you… that is on my WANT NEED list. That will be my next big business purchase. I didn’t believe my fellow photographers when they said "Buy good glass"… until I got my hands on this L series lens. Wowser.
After dropping off the lens at Laurens, I met Ryan and Porter over at the Morrisons for a cookout barbecue. We had hot dogs, brats and burgers. YUM. We hung out for a bit afterwards, the guys played some b-ball while Heather and I surfed the net, gossiped and edited pictures from the day.
Wow. We sure hang out with the Morrisons a lot. Which makes me think… what will life be like if/when they move? Ryan works for Pfizer and they moved here last year because of his job and less than a year later the job is gone. As far as I know, he’s been offered a job in St. Louis. The job prospects here in MI are pretty slim. Which sucks. I’m so glad we have become such great friends with their family, but so sad they’ll be moving so soon!
Ok… back to my day. Wait. I think thats it. I should get to bed. OH! Check out my photo blog for some EXCITING new happenings on the photography front…
