So many things to update

Nothing major, just little things that throughout the last few days I’ve thought to myself "oh I should blog that", so, I’ve accumulated quite a list.

  • So far spring break has been anything but relaxing.  I have been busy with my sessions from Sunday and Monday, and hope that I can get all three of those proofed and ready to show my clients by the end of the week.  My computer is old, slow and bogged down with so many pictures, it takes forever to proof.  I am thinking maybe instead of a new lens I should be looking at a new workhorse….
  • Yesterday after I picked Porter up from my moms, I did some major cleaning around the house.  None of which was acknowledged by my husband (maybe I should be like him… "Look honey, I picked took the garbage out… did you notice?"). Here’s what I did…
    • swept and mopped the kitchen floor (which hadn’t been mopped since… since… before Porter was born?  I dunno… my mom said she was pretty sure she’d mopped it for me since then… but I know *I* haven’t mopped it in over a year.  Sick, huh?)
    • Did about 4 loads of laundry, and folded and put them away this morning
    • Wiped down all the kitchen counters
    • Cleaned out the basket on the counter that holds our "most used" meds
    • Scrubbed the top of the stove… it was disgusting
    • Washed the stove burner thingys
    • Vacuumed the living room, playroom and Porter’s room
    • Wiped the fingerprints off the tv
    • Dusted the living room
    • This morning I ironed all of Porter’s clothes that he hasn’t worn lately because I hate to iron… so they just sit and sit and sit, and sometimes he just outgrows them.
  • After my session yesterday, I went to Old Navy and picked up a few (err
many) things.  I got Porter an adorable yellow raincoat and yellow
rainboots… mainly with the thought that they’d be SO cute in
pictures… but I might just take them back and wait for those type of
pictures when he’s a little older and will attempt to jump in puddles.
    I’m a dork, yeah, I know.

I also got a new diaperbag, however, I’m thinking of taking that back too.  I love the diaper bag I have now (which isn’t REALLY a diaper bag… its a green corduroy messenger bag, with two front pockets).  The one I bought at O.N. is pretty similar, minus the extra pockets inside (that I use to hold a few small cars and books for Porter), but its light blue… a little more springy. I like the color better, but I like the functionality of my old bag better… is an olivey green corduroy bag too "fallish" for spring and summer??

I also picked up a summer dress for me, which (surprise!) might go back too.  I need to get into shape… I seriously look 3 months pregnant in the dress because my pooch is so sickeningly poochy.

Last week I went to Walmart, and found a little bible for Porter.  I was SO excited about this (and the fact that it was $1.98!!).  See, when I was little, I received this small pink bible from some family friends.  And inside is a little note to me, as well as some "significant scriptures" that have been highlighted.  And, so cute, its pink.  I wanted to find one for Porter, and had looked online but just couldn’t find a small "real" bible (not a children’s version) like mine.  I am tempted to go back and pick up two pink ones and two blue ones, so our future children will have one.  (NO we are not planning on having 5 kids… I just assumed that no matter what the sex of our next kid or two is, if I have two of each bible, we’ll be covered)
  • 33107_024_proof_4x6I’m also addicted to picking up these for Porter…. We all know how addicted he is to cars (err… "Trucks!!"), and well, I’m addicted to buying them for him.  He really likes the Matchbox cars… and its great that they’re CHEAP (97 cents!!).  They had some cool Easter themed ones, so he’s getting the green Eclipse in his easter basket.

Well, I should go… I have a ton of stuff to do.

  1. You sound way too much like me! The tile in my house hides dirt so well that my floors go really long amounts of time before I clean them…I hate to iron & laundry for that matter….I just bought the cutest umbrella at Target thinking about pictures but I don’t think Easton is quite old enough so it might be going back……I too am obsessed with buying cars/trucks/trains…..and I’m taking on too much work for what I’m able to do right now……why do we do this to ourselves?

  2. Oh I miss the Matchbox cars days!!! I loved buying those afordable little prizes! The boys used to love them. Then one day a few years ago they got sat aside- like the way the poor little squeeker penguin toy on Toy Story got sat on the shelf. The poor cars are now in a box.

I should get them out again- they just might give some old neglected toys some new attention after the long break. I would just give them to a new loving home, but I am so attached to the memories of those silly cars. :O) I guess I can hang on to them for when they have little boys! I am seriously a nut! (Wow long comment- sorry.)

  3. Hey there! You’ve been busy!! I need, NEED to get to Old Navy and do some shopping…did they have some good stuff???
Thats a good idea about the bibles! Plus, if you have an extra or 2 you could give them to a friend with a new baby or whatever!
