Look at my TODDLER!

He does NOT look like a baby anymore.   Awww…

And did I tell you… I got my camera back?  I was ecstatic (but apparently not enough to post in on here LOL).  And I figured out how to use Adobe Bridge, so I’ll try to share some settings with you on images (for any of you photogs/camera techies out there).

I shot these wide open, and baby let me tell you, you can COUNT those eyelashes.  woot woot!

All images: 50mm lens, ISO 160 (coulda dropped it to 100, but whatever). P looks a tad yellow, but he’s sitting at a yellow picnic table and I didn’t feel like color correcting them. Deal.

It nearly hit 80* here today.  Ahhh!  It was so so nice out.  First thing this morning my mom, Porter and I went garage saleing (thats is so not a word, is it?).  Have you heard how much we LOVE to garage sale?  We always come back with the car loaded up with shit we probably don’t even need, but it was a good deal.  So what if Porter now has 50 million cars and 10 new books, a pop up elmo toy and an elmo mirror for the car which he really does NOT need, but he is infatuated with Elmo so I bought it for him for a buck.  Yeah, my mom and I do some serious damage at garage sales.  All morning we reminisced about last years sales….

"Remember that one that we walked up to and you thought those kids sippy cups were for sale?"  (OH MY WORD why would she want to buy used sippy cups??

"Remember that time we went to the neighborhood sale, and you had bought a stroller earlier that day, and then you bought a double stroller later that day?  And we had 3 kids in the Durango and had to pretty much shove the doors shut because we had bought so much stuff?"

And today, we created another "Remember that one" story…

We hit a huge neighborhood sale and at one house they had the SuperYard for sale for $35.  Well, its Saturday, and in garage salers terms its the last day so people should be taking up any bargain to get rid of their crap.  So, I didn’t want to pay $35 for it.  But I didn’t have the balls to ask, so I send my mom (see why we work together?).  I’m putting our loot in the Fe while she asks the guy, and I glance back and she’s standing by the SuperYard talking to the guys kid, he’s like 7 or 8.

My mom comes back, and I ask "He said no? What was the kid saying?"  My mom just says "No.  I’ll tell you later" and I can tell she is about to die laughing.  So she starts to push Porter down the road in the stroller as I drive the Fe (see how we work?  HAHA!  One drives to load up the loot, one pushes the kid HAHA!) and so I drive beside her begging her to tell me what is so funny.  She just says "He might hear me!"

We get a little further down, I park and get out.  She tells me the guy immediately said "Oh no!" and didn’t even try to haggle, like "OH, I’ll take $30 for it" or something like that.  So she dropped it and walked away.  Well, the kid stopped her at the end of the driveway and, try to imagine this in a whiney, slooooow voice… (she said he talked SOOOO slow… thats why she stood there for so long for him to just say this one thing)

"My mooooooomm,  sheeeeee is running thiiiiis gaaraaaaage saaaale.  And the priiiiiices that they’re maarrrrrrked, those are theeeee priiiiices you haaaave to buyyyyy it foooorrrrr"

OH MY WORD I about died.  We laughed at that all day.  Which is kind of mean, I’m sure the kid is not all there.

Whew! How did my story of my few great bargains on some Old Navy and Gap jeans for P-man turn into this long story??

This afternoon we had a playdate with the Cheeky Monkeys today at the park and I got to meet two of the new moms in our group.  Fun!  I think we now have something like 19 members?  So cool!  Next week we’re doing a moms night out, can’t wait for that!  Its hard to chat it up with other moms when we’re all being pulled in separate directions chasing our little ones.

Ok, I have got to stop… this post is going on FOREVER.

Wait! One more thing… wanna see my last order of pictures… just dating back to Porter’s birthday… Feb 21.  The stack on the right… YIKES!  I ordered over 400 4×6’s!  The stack on the left… thats my last order that I still have not put in albums.  And, speaking of pictures, I have wanted to scrapbook for the last few nights, but I get sucked into this computer.  And, speaking of scrap booking, I quit the Blue Crew last night.

Alright, leave me some comments, gosh darn it all!

  5. P-Man looks so big – er.. old LOL Dude is definately not big, you gotta come over here for that HAHA

Meant to tell you, don’t worry about the spoon thing. I was worried when I saw this kid at M’s daycare totally eating with a spoon, he was 20 months. M was 16 and I thought there is NO WAY he will be that good with a spoon in just 4 months! Now, at 19 months, eats like a pro. Mind you, it’s still not tidy but I think that’s a long way down the line! LOL

What is the deal with the weather in the mitten??? First you have snow, then 2 seconds later it’s in the 80’s? Your state has ADD, I swear!

What’s with quitting the BC? Not enough time? Email me!

  7. Hey, Nic! I enjoyed the garage sale story. I laughed because your Mom is so funny in situations like that. I wish that I were there to be with you all! Miss you much, Aunt Linda
