Aria’s got your back

Porter has been quite whiny this afternoon, after taking only an hour and a half nap.  Aria, Porter and I went outside to play right after he woke up (aka… when he was at his crankiest) and he kept throwing tantrums about the stupidest things. 

I told him I was going to sell him. Aria was astounded.

A: "Why are you going to sell him!  I like Porter!"

Me: "Well, he’s kind of whiny. And I don’t really like him when he’s like that"

A:"Well, he’s good sometimes too!  Remember!"

Me: "Yeah, well, he’s also whiny a lot, and I just don’t like it when he whines, so I think I’ll just sell him and get a new baby"

A: "All babies whine!  Thats how babies are! Babies are bad sometimes and good sometimes.  You shouldn’t sell him!"

Me: "I don’t know… he’s really getting on my nerves today"

A:  "But he can’t help it! His heart is making him be bad!  His heart is bad!"

Me: "Really?  How is his heart bad? I thought he was good sometimes too?"

A: "Well, he has two hearts, a good one and a bad one.  And right now his bad heart is making his body be bad!"

HAHAHAHA Is that not hilarious? 

So then she goes on to tell me that his body is connected to his heart, and his foot is connected to his heart.  And his heart is making him be bad because I was mean to him. OH MY WORD>  HAHAHAH!!!

Me: "Well, if all babies whine, I don’t think I want a baby.  Maybe I’ll go trade him for a cat."

A: "A cat? Where are you going to get a cat!"

Me: "The pet store.  Do you think I can trade Porter for a cat?"

A: "I like birds"

Me: "I could trade him for a bird.  Thats a good idea"

A: "I don’t think he’ll fit in the cage."

Me: "They can put him in a bigger cage."

A:  "I think you should sell him"

Me: "What! I thought you wanted me to keep him."

A: (thinks for a minute) "I changed my mind.  I think you should trade him for a baby horse."

HAHAHAH.  Well, Porter, if it comes down to you or a baby horse, Aria’s swappin you fast!
