Sorry for being a bad blogger this week…. I have been super busy trying to get things organized for our Florida/Disney trip as well as wrapping up some new and old sessions before we leave, on top of the normal daily chaos.
This past weekend we had a garage sale (that bombed bigtime) and spent Saturday evening at the Morrisons for one last cookout (or is it barbecue?) and night of drinks, laughter and trivia games. We’re really going to miss you guys!!
Sunday was our first Father’s day in awhile spent at home together. The last few years we’ve been out of town with Ryan’s family. It was actually really nice to just spend the day together. We had lunch outside, played with Porter, spent part of the day cleaning and getting ready for Florida (yeah, fun Father’s Day, huh?). I’m really glad now that we didn’t go camping this weekend… at first I was kind of bummed that we "broke the tradition", but I guess its no different than our supposed annual Christmas cookie bake-a-thon that only lasted 2 years LOL! If we had went camping this year, we’d be pulling our hair out with trying to get ready for a 2 week trip the following week.
Porter is a mess lately… the poor kid looks like he’s been beaten. His bashed in skull scraped up head is scabbing over and on Saturday he accumulated about 497 mosquito bites all over his face and head. Poor kid…
I did want to share this…. my kid is an absolute nut. Ok, seriously, we all knew that. But this… this is so funny. When we were little (my sister and I… not so much my brother since he came along when we were 6 and 9), my mom used to do this "rhyme" on our backs….
"criss cross (draw an x on back)
applesauce (make fist and lightly thump back three times… ap-ple-sauce)
spiders crawling up your back (crawl fingers up back to neck)
cool breeze (blow on neck)
tight squeeze (squeeze shoulders)
spiders crawling up your back (crawl fingers up back)"
Anyway, she started doing this with Porter, and I kid you not, it about puts him in a trance. The second you start to "criss cross" on his back, he throws his head down on his arm and just LAYS there. And when you stop, he looks up at you and pats his belly/side to urge you to keep going! Its so funny.
Last week mom came over and Porter crawled up on the picnic table and laid down just like this and then kept looking at her, patting his side (trying to pat his back) to get her to do the rhyme. He cracks me up!!
(UGH… these conversions look weird….)

Too funny! Love the 3rd one! LOL M is like that when my sister runs her nails down his back (she has acrylics), gives him these little shivers and he goes into a daze! If she stops, he yells MO MO!
When do you leave again?? Are you bringing a laptop to update us?
