Shock

Cathy didn’t make it to surgery and passed away late Saturday night. She suffered a great deal of brain damage even before she made it to the hospital and the surgeon said he was doubtful she would make it through surgery and if, by miracle, she did, she’d be severely brain damaged.

We’re all in shock and disbelief, I think. I fully expected her to go through surgery and be a-ok. This wasn’t supposed to happen.

A more thoughtful post to come…. when exhaustion and shock has worn off.

Thank you for all your prayers.

  1. Shock is exactly the word that kept running over and over in my head last night. It’s just mind blowing… that one minute it’s just a normal weekend, and then in an instant it’s all so different.I’m glad Ryan was able to get home quickly and safely.I haven’t stopped thinking of you guys. And praying.

  2. Nicole, I can’t even imagine what you’re going through. I am so sorry for your loss. Extra big hugs to you and Ryan and the boys from mexxoxoxoxooxox

  3. Wow Nicole. I was so shocked when I heard the news. If you need anything at all PLEASE call me. I don’t want to burden you right now with phone calls.

  4. Thinking of you and your family. That’s very shocking to hear…after I read your post last night, I expected to hear that surgery helped her, so sorry to hear the news.

  5. Nicole – I am so very sorry for your family’s loss. My thoughts are with you, your husband, and the boys during this difficult time.

  6. I really wish I knew the right thing to say or do to soften the impact of all of this and make you all feel comforted during this time.Like everyone else here has written, all I can tell you is that you are all in my thoughts and prayers and have my deepest and sincerest condolences.~xoxo~
