We don't have a home phone or cable. We bought an antenna for our TV to get regular channels & we stream Netflix for all the other stuff we want to watch. Saves a TON! Is this part of your simplifying?
It will be OK!! We have NEVER had a land line, and we are seriously thinking about canceling our cable and just using Netflix. We hardly watch TV at all and I really don't think we would miss it.

We got rid of both last year. It was hard at first, but I don't miss them anymore. Plus I love saving money.
