Its almost time!

Just 2.5 weeks until our due date.  I’m still holding out for an earlier delivery– in case you didn’t know of this, but we started a betting game on ExpectNet to see who guesses the closest delivery date, weight, length.  If you go to www.expectnet.com you can type in our game name "PorterBarczak" and make your guess.  The soonest guess is my grandmas, for February 14th.  Hmm… I’ll be bowling that day with the 7th graders I just finished teaching.  We’ll see.  I’m still on for the 18th, so is my Aunt Dawn.  I think either the 18th or the 26th.  Something about those numbers….

Anyway, I’m getting SO excited to meet this little guy.  I was just going through his room, organizing and cleaning (yeah, I’m nuts) and it dawned on me that we could possibly be bringing him home next week or the week after… not long!  It is crazy to think its that close!  It still seems like I have forever to wait… or that its kind of a dream that he’ll really truly actually be here and be ours.

I’ve got an email all set up for Ryan to send out once he’s born.  All the email addresses are on it and it basically just says to visit his website for more information, and Ryan will be updating his website hopefully soon after his birth.  So, keep an eye out for that email or keep updated on his website.

Odds and Ends:

  • I just finished a really funny book… You’ll Never Nanny in This Town Again!  Its a book about a nanny who worked for a family in Hollywood and it is hilarious.  Its a pretty quick read and its funny to see how some Hollywood families REALLY are… they can’t function without a maid, cook, nanny etc… True story.  I am in the beginning of reading The Glass Castle, which so far is a pretty good book.
  • Desperate Housewives was good last night… I was so bummed that it wasn’t on last week.  I look forward to it all stinkin weekend.
  • I’ve been able to do TWO scrapbook pages for myself this weekend.  Big breakthrough!  I’ve been so preoccupied scrapbooking for Lauren to get in some hours that I haven’t had the ambition, motivation or creativity to do my own pages.  Not to mention I really haven’t taken many pictures in the last few months… I mean, pictures of "events" etc.  However, I’m sure once Porter is here I’ll have waaaay too many pictures to scrapbook.  Scary thought.  I have a feeling I’ll need a new room to put photo albums with his pictures in it LOL.
  • I’m babysitting Aria today.  We’re doing our weekly trip to the library to return last weeks books and get a few new ones.  Maybe we’ll do some type of Valentines Day project too.  I had also planned to attempt making homemade play-doh, but I’m not sure if I have all the ingredients.
  • Ryan finally fixed the patched up spot on the livingroom ceiling!  Last August, when we had a new roof put on, Ryan was helping up there and accidenly slipped and busted a big ol hole in our living room ceiling.  For a few months it was just patched with a piece of drywall, finally about a month ago he got around to actually cutting the piece of drywall to size and mudding it, but it still remained a big white patch of ceiling.  This weekend he put the texture stuff on it, smoothed it out and got it painted.  Its not perfect, but it looks a heck of a lot better than it did!

Hmmm what else is new… nothing really.  I guess that sums it up for now.

  1. I can’t believe how fast this pregnancy has gone! And now Porter is almost here! After all this waiting for him, I might just need to take a drive to Michigan this summer to see you guys in person!

  2. I am so excited for you! Another person I keep up with in blog land is due with her baby soon too. I think she has 2 weeks left. I can not wait to see pictures and hear your new stories!

Desperate Housewives was great last night! So was Grey’s Anatomy- WOW!!! (My all time fav lately!)
