I’m not sure whose evening has been worse… Porter’s or mine. Well, not that we’ve had a horrible evening, its just been… like taking care of a little puppy.
Let me explain.
Porter and I went to run some errands… Office Depot, the bank (never made it there) and Walmart.
After getting most of out stuff at Walmart, and Porter was getting a bit cart-cranky, we ran into Missy, whom we haven’t seen in what seems like forever. So we walked and talked, and I pulled out my emergency stash of graham crackers for Porter. After hitting the produce section, Porter saw we had strawberries in the cart and demanded he have some (ok, so demanded is a subjective term in this case…). I am no germaphobe, and of course opened the container and gave him a strawberry to settle his probably growling tummy. We finally checked out and walked to the parking lot together, still chatting (Missy and I, that is).
Once in the car, I realized Porter was covered in strawberry juice. Red splotches all over his face, down his shirt, even on his khaki shorts. Ahh.. oh well. Oxy Clean will get it out. And then I realized it was past 6:30!! We usually feed Porter around 5/5:30… as he’s STARVING by then. I felt awful, but he wasn’t thrashing at me with hunger pains yet, so I figured the graham crackers and strawberries had held him over.
Once we got home, I stripped him down (this will come into play in a minute, so remember this), and got him some food. I ran downstairs to put stain stuff on his clothes and throw them in the wash. Back upstairs, I’m talking to Porter, opening a banana for him, and I cut up a few pieces so he could try to get them on his spoon (his new "thing" is to try to eat with a spoon… which isn’t that successful). He dropped a banana beside him in his chair, and when he went to eat it, I noticed brown mushy stuff all over his hand and the banana. Hmm… I thought… I don’t think I fed him anything brown and mushy. I looked down his seat, and EWWWW… He’d blown out his diaper and was EATING POOP! Sick, huh. SICK. The look on his face when he tasted the poop covered banana was a pure look of confusion and disgust. That’s one ROTTEN banana, huh?
So, I wiped his mouth, face and hands, and took him out of his seat and carried him to his room to change his diaper. I figured we’d just go get in the bath, so I didn’t put another diaper on him. We let him run around bare bootied quite often. So, this was nothing weird. I put him down and we made our way to the kitchen. I was cleaning up the floor and his poopy chair when I felt dribbles on my foot. Porter was peeing on my kitchen floor like a little puppy. Let me also mention, this is day #2 of Porter peeing on my foot. Last night when he was standing by the bathtub as it was filling with water, he peed all over my foot. Which cracked Ryan up and got a cheesy grin out of Porter.
Ahh… well, such is life. Its late, he’s cranky and ready for bed.
In other news, I gave Porter a haircut today. Yes, me. Pretending I know what I’m doing. He was just getting a little scraggly, and Ryan Morrison always cuts Sawyers hair, so while we were over there this afternoon I trimmed him up. It doesn’t look bad, I do have to say. I think I’m going to invest in some of those clippers and save Ryan and I a little time with driving him to the Barber Shop to have Dave trim it up.
Hmm… anything else? I guess not. I need to get my house cleaned and try to relax a little tonight… maybe… MAYBE scrapbook??

Eating poop can’t be fun!! Nasty!!! poor Porter….hopefully he doesn’t stop eating bananas now!
ohh my.. what *IS* it with porter and poop.. its always about poop. sorry about your evening.. thanks for the comment on my photos!
YIKES!! Let’s hope that doesn’t happen again anytime soon. If it makes you feel better, my mom tells all my friends about the time I was about that age, I took my diaper off and was quietly playing with my poop in the crib. By the time she got to me, it was everywhere, apparently. My poor mother! haha!!!
I hope today is going better! P.S. what is Porter’s usual bedtime? Tiegan is always down between 9:15 and 9:30, never earlier. I hear a lot of babies her age are down at like 7-8pm. Just curious!
