Here’s my bitch post for this Holiday.

Its Sunday.  11am.  Where can my husband be found?

In bed.  Sleeping.

Whose morning is it to sleep in?  MINE.

See, he let me sleep till 9am.  Oh dear, sweet husband I worship the ground you walk on for that (hear the sarcasm?).  And then he came in at 9am, told me it was time to get up and he proceeded to lay his ass back down and let me be single parent for the rest of the morning.  Well, I guess day, because now Porter and I are about to go see Santa- as a single parent and child.

Yesterday was his "sleep in day".  I let him sleep in until 9:30.  And on those days he usually gets up and I *stay* awake and we BOTH parent for the rest of the morning.  Yesterday, he got up, I of course did not go back to bed to "swap" as he does on my mornings to sleep in. (he apparently thinks that he shouldn’t have to be a parent in the mornings… that he should get to have extra sleep both days and leave me to the parenting???) And what did he do once he was awake?  He came in and sat on the computer for an hour while I attempted to get myself ready while attending to Porter’s needs.

Oh, he keeps complaining "I have a headache" in a whiny tone.  Oh freaking get over it.  You’re a parent now.  Headaches don’t give you days off.

Days like today I wonder exactly why do I have him around?

  1. Oh dear. I think I could have written the same exact post. My husband went to bed at 8:00 last night and slept until 8:45 this morning – no help with betime, breakfast, baths, etc. He got to eat a leisurely breakfast ALONE while I showered with Cooper (Maren plays in her Jumperoo in the doorway), and now he is showering alone while I try to cram in some breakfast. I sometimes wonder what would happen if he didn’t bring home the only paycheck! But, of course, I love him, and while I play single parent a lot, I certainly wouldn’t want to do it fulltime.
